What says the Ukraine in the negotiations with Russia in Saudi-Arabia?
 
Russia doesn't need ceasefire. Russia needs lasting and reliable peace, which means elimination of Kievan regime and Ukrainian nationalists. Zelenskiy doesn't need ceasefire, for ceasefire means elections with futher death sentence to him. Europe doesn't need ceasefire - significant part of European already wants to commit mass murder-suicide. Significant part of American politicians doesn't want ceasefire, for they are making money on the war.
And, looks like Trump himself doesn't want ceasefire, for he didn't halted already contracted (by Biden) delivirence of weapons and other supplies.

So, the only one who might be interested in ceasefire are poor Ukrainian civilians and ranks and lines of military. But nobody cares about them.

I believe that many of our liberals and their fellow travelers fear a cease fire because Trump is likely to get and deserve a huge amount of credit.

My hypothetical would be to maintain the current status quo as far as territory occupied. Maintain it during the cease-fire while the negotiations go on without the killing.

I would say before the 2014 Coup, Putin would be crazy to sign up to Minsk 3 and give time for the Ukrainians to bring in more weapons, he should finish it then dictate surrender terms that's all those bastards deserve.

Yes… Infant… But we are giving Ukraine the money with which to purchase weapons from US arms manufactures. It sounds like an indirect pipeline from the taxpayers pockets to the manufacturers. With Ukraine helpfully using all the weapons up so that we “have to” replace them.

A win for nobody, but the US arms manufacturer. Almost ad if the armed manufacturer had some kind of sway over our politicians…
