I can only speak for myself. The straight has to remain international waters. That declaration has to be made and kept by the nations in the area and the world at large. No one should be controlling it , that is a piracy act and should be dealt with by those laws. Iran must abide by that or face partition of it's country. That would be the best solution. Pakistan and Iraq can take the coastal areas of Iran and divide it up right in the middle of the straight of Hormuz. The other neighboring nations can divide up the rest. Perhaps Iran can still exist but at a much reduced state with a small area surrounding Tehran.
