Another person from those days that I don't understand as a singer is Neil Young. I recently discovered his rendition of the song he wrote named "After The Goldrush" and before I knew that it was him singing the song, I thought that it sounded like a woman singing the song at a karaoke bar after having a few drinks. Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris are who introduced me to that song in 1999 when they sang it together and so you can only imagine what going from their flawlessness to his "singing" did to me.I couldn't agree more! I think the idea was that she was supposed to be the first "black" girl who was white but all I could hear was shouting. I never understood why she was so popular.

Everything that came from Janis Joplin during that decade to me is the worst. How that girl scored and kept a contract, I will never know. In my opinion, she sounds like a fork in a garbage disposal.
