Exactly! My parents were born into poverty, my grandparents NEVER took “relief”, and Mom and Dad didn’t get anything that blacks didn’t get. They got to where they are by earning it, and by having parents who encouraged it.

In fact, they did it in the midst of antisemitism so strong that Hitler was killing their European relatives and knowing that the hate for Jews was so strong here as well that FDR wouldn’t accept a ship of Jews and sent them back to Hitler.

Instead, they studied hard, mastered their subjects, and got free educations - just as the blacks in their colleges did.
