A high intake of animal protein is linked to an increased risk for cancer, heart disease and other diseases.... and that's just one of the reasons why it's not better. The problem is most folks only want to hear what their itching ears want to hear. The meat and dairy industries take advantage of that by funding "studies" that tell people what they want to hear. It's sad, actually, because many of those folks will end up dying of cancer or a heart attack, because they listened to what their itching ears wanted to hear.

Also....where do you think the animals you eat get their protein? From plants! So what you're doing is getting nutrients second-hand, filtered through a corpse. You can cut out the middleman and get the protein where it originally comes from, because there is zero need to eat animals. A lot of people don't know that.

humans has been omnivores for millions of years but plants don't have the calories unless you eat and entire bush and we are not set up for that, too many calories is not good either
point is you for the same amount of protein you are adding a lot of carbs, you know what high carbs do you can't use? turns to fat

do you want to be fat? go on a diet of bread, pasta, donuts, cake and cookies, I wait for the results

I'll take a the taste of a good steak over some beans any day, you will likely die from something else........like driving

I don't agree that humans have always been omnivores, but I'm going by the biblical worldview, which clearly states that ALL creation was designed as herbivores. (Genesis 1:29-30) I believe we still are, as it says in this video, even though from a behavioral standpoint, humans behave as omnivores.

As for the other thing you said, there are good carbs and bad carbs. You only listed bad carbs.

One can eat a plantbased diet without eating stuff like donuts, cookies, etc. :)

I'm vegan, but not for health reasons....but as I've mentioned before on other threads, I'm far healthier now, as a vegan (for 9 years) than I was back when I was eating the standard American diet.

And I'll probably live a lot longer than all my non-vegan family and friends. Heck, my brother-in-law recently had a heart attack in his 50's, and he was a big meat eater. He's truly lucky (blessed) he didn't die, but unfortunately sometimes people need a wake-up call to do the right thing.

It's really no one else's business how people decide to eat for the most part either way. I don't know why people believe it is.
