PA Republicans tried to overturn a PA State Supreme court ruling allowing ballots received by the voter registrars office up to 3 days past election day to be counted. This was in response to statements by the USPS that some ballots may be late in arriving at their destination. I recall Gore lawyers tossing bags of unopened ballots from Navy ships and stations because they were past the allowable mailing deadline. Gore instinctively knew that he didn't have the Military support so every bag that was tossed was less votes for Bush.
