What can one conclude as we see more and more people doing nothing as their fellow citizens are stabbed, set on fire, robbed, etc?

New York is getting exactly what they voted for.

Criminals running amuck and no ability for law abiding citizens to defend themselves and no help from others.

Congrats NYC, you got what you voted for. Enjoy your perfect city.

I agree with helping. But s better question is why aren't women carrying weapons to protect themselves.

It is time for individuals to protect themselves.

Hell, in new york if you help somebody in trouble you go to jail.

Blame the government who prevents people from helping

Oh well.....That's life in a dem "utopia", I guess.

BTW.....That was a nothingburger of a video.
Agreed.

Here is a news story on the stabbing.

San Fran and NY are really taking good care of their cities.

Exactly. That's why Steven Seagal was loved so much when he was raiding joints and breaking hands left and right in his movies or Charles Bronson in his Death Wish plain shooting them all. Because he was doing what people dreamed about but were afraid to go to jail for that.

Errr, using Segal as an example is horrible. That dumb media chasing idiot did immense harm to the American police fraternity when he was apparently a police man filming that show he was a part of in Arizona. He was promptly removed after that episode which saw.the police sued and them dropping all 115 charges against the guy. If his movies came out today they would be a source of laughter from people, citizens back then didn't have the internet...

We're in the age of strong, independent "dont need no man", women. She can protect herself.

Yeah. There's no ******* movie these days where strong beyond repair women don't single handedly destroy a battalion of criminals without breaking a sweat. Even in Russia we see this shit more and more. Bloody morons!

In the event that occurred she was attacked from behind. You can be carrying an MG42 and still get sucker punched.

No one else helping - the Daniel Penny Effect?

Diversity is just another dress-up word for a low trust society.

What is the Kitty Genovese syndrome?

The Genovese Syndrome in the Church

The Kitty Genovese syndrome, also known as the bystander effect, is a social psychology phenomenon that describes when a person witnesses a crime or emergency but does not intervene:

The term comes from the 1964 murder of Kitty Genovese, who was stabbed to death outside her apartment building in New York City. Although more than a dozen people witnessed the attack or heard her screams, no one intervened. Social psychologists Bibb Latané and John Darley named the phenomenon after Genovese's murder to explain why people do not help in these situations.

Latané and Darley's research suggests that people are less likely to help when there are other witnesses because they assume someone else will intervene. This is known as the diffusion of responsibility.

However, some research suggests that the story of Kitty Genovese's murder was exaggerated by the media. For example, the New York Times later admitted that the original article overstated the number of witnesses and what they saw. Some say that the story has become a myth that researchers rarely challenge.
