Sounds to me like the left knows they can't beat him honestly, so they'll rig the election again or just kill Trump before election day. Ya know, those 81 million votes someone who hid in the basement for the entire election season had? Beating a president that ADDED 10 MILLION votes over his last election that he won? The most votes ever cast for an incumbent president, one that was supposedly so hated and so unpopular that he added more votes his 2nd time around than any other incumbent president in history?

That is the argument on Trump's side, but Smith does report to the AG under special counsel Doj rules....keeping him separate but still overseen and able to be fired by the AG, under the special counsel rules.

But free to run his own investigation and not directly supervised by AG. To be an independent counsel, he would have to be free from being under the AG.

Also, house rule do have a section about special counsel requiring advice and consent but I’m not 100% sure it applies here or not.
