I doubt that the Japanese soldiers thought they did no wrong. They may have thought it was justified, but that is all.

That is true, and when someone rants that God can't exist because there is evil in the world, the only question becomes, why do you classify it as evil? If God, and therefore objective measures of right and wrong, good and evil, do not exist, might makes right, and the strong are justified in taking what they want from the weak.

Most 5 year olds know right from wrong They know that it is wrong to do things that hurt others. They do not need god to tell them . It is called socialization. It is the awarness of certain universal societal norms and values which is the glue that holds civilization together .

Yes there are those who do not conform. They are the criminals, socipaths and psychopaths many of them will profess a belief in god. Bad people will do bad things but good people also do bad things-In the name of god

The fact that they may not have believed that their actions were wrong does not make that a valis opinion. As I said , tere are universal norms and values . They violated thoes norms as individuas and groups aften do. That does not put those actions on a equal basis with those who do not behave that way.
