I believe the Global Crises is actually the beginning of the end of nation states.

I fully expect that nations will be about as powerful as States are in the USA today by the end of this century.

This could be a good thing in the long run, but in this century I expect that the citizens of nation are going to take it on the neck as we transition from what we've had for the last 500 years to what this world is going to become.
