Will the authors of this finding be fired like Gen. Kruse?

Pentagon Fires the Defense Intelligence Agency Chief

The move comes weeks after the agency drafted a preliminary report contradicting President Trump’s contention that U.S. strikes had “obliterated” nuclear sites in Iran.

trump lied again. Imagine my surprise.

U.S. at Fault in Strike on School in Iran, Preliminary Inquiry Says

An ongoing military investigation has determined that the United States is responsible for a deadly Tomahawk missile strike on an Iranian elementary school, according to U.S. officials and others familiar with the preliminary findings.

The Feb. 28 strike on the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school building was the result of a targeting mistake by the U.S. military, which was conducting strikes on an adjacent Iranian base of which the school building was formerly a part, the preliminary investigation found. Officers at U.S. Central Command created the target coordinates for the strike using outdated data provided by the Defense Intelligence Agency, people briefed on the investigation said.

Officials emphasized that the findings are preliminary and that there are important unanswered questions about why the outdated information had not been double checked.

He said, before the investigation was complete, that it was Iran's fault. Then he said if it turns out to be our fault he can live with that. As any sociopath would.

Remember, this regime and especially its leader never admits fault. Just as Roy Cohn told Don not to do.

Preliminary report? You mean they don't know yet because the report isn't finished?

As the death toll in Iran mounts, the Trump administration is increasingly trying to sidestep blame for any civilian deaths stemming from the conflict.

President Trump has said it was his “opinion” that the Tomahawk missile that reports and video evidence indicate hit an Iranian elementary school, killing 175 people, had been fired by Iran — even though the U.S. military is the only force carrying out strikes in the conflict known to have Tomahawk missiles.

“In my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran,” Mr. Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Saturday, adding: “They’re very inaccurate, as you know, with their munitions. They have no accuracy whatsoever. It was done by Iran.”

Gosh, maybe Don isn't infallible after all.

I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Of course he was fired. What an asshole. "Fact checking" hyperbole is always idiotic. But doing it as an "in your face" to the president whose policies the taxpayers pay you to support is at least a firing offense.

Your article is behind a paywall. How did the public find out about this preliminary intelligence report? Let me guess: "Sources?"

Another reason to fire him if he cannot manage his personnel well enough to prevent them from relaying highly classified informations to the NYT.

Obviously another Obama partisan still operating as a deepstater. Very well. He had his moment. Now he can go to MSNOW or NPR and enjoy his retirement.

No comment on trump not waiting until the investigation was complete before blaming Iran for bombing a school house? Given his track record of firing (or trying to prosecute) the authors of investigations he doesn't like, will he fire the authors of this one?

Or, perhaps you'd rather not talk about it.

The Pentagon has fired the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, a senior defense official and a senator said on Friday, weeks after the agency drafted a preliminary report that contradicted President Trump’s contention that Iran’s nuclear sites had been “obliterated” in U.S. military strikes.

Air Force Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse is the latest senior Pentagon official, and the second top military intelligence official, to be removed since Mr. Trump’s return to office. Gen. Timothy D. Haugh, the head of the National Security Agency, was ousted this spring after a right-wing conspiracy theorist complained about him.

If an investigation contradicts what Dotard told the public (a lie) should it be buried? Are you saying the public shouldn't be told the truth?

Of course you are.

You're going to wait until he is told what to think.

"Obliterated" I s a fair description of what happened to Iran's military.

Leaking classified informatikn is a crime, even if you are the author of the classified report.

Are you claiming that is what happened? Prove it.

Satellite imagery reviewed by The Times showed that watchtowers that once stood near the building had been removed, three public entrances were opened to the school, ground was cleared and play areas including a sports field were painted on asphalt, and walls were painted blue and pink.

The “target coding” provided by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the military intelligence agency that helps develop targets, labeled the school building as a military target when it was passed to Central Command, the military headquarters overseeing the war, according to people briefed on the preliminary findings of the investigation.

After Hegseth basically said we need to maximize lethality and disregard the rules of engagement, and after this.........

The U.S. Built a Blueprint to Avoid Civilian War Casualties. Trump Officials Scrapped It.

..........it would be surprising if Iran didn't use the bombing of the girl's school as propaganda.

If it was designed under the Autopen Administration, it is not at all surprising if it needed to be scrapped.

Here's the universal, easily understood, and easy to follow blueprint to avoid civilian war casualties:

Stop hiding military assets among civilians

It's so easy because it is the natural way to stage military assets, away from civilians to avoid interference in military maneuvers by civilians and interference with civilian activities by the military activities.

So Iran had to go out of its way to have a girls' school adjacent to a missile station. Was it to give its soldiers more conventient targets for rape? Or was it to make sure that girls learned the most important lesson that the Mulluhs don't want girls to be educated? Or were they hoping to be able to attack without counter attack, as long as they attacked from a civilian population center?

Or can you think of another reason, berg80?

How else did the news get access to an intelligence report, or the information it contained?

Bryant, a former special operations targeting specialist, said he couldn’t help but think of what-ifs as he monitored fallout from the Feb. 28 attack.

Just over a year ago, he had been a senior adviser in an ambitious new Defense Department program aimed at reducing civilian harm during operations. Finally, Bryant said, the military was getting serious about reforms. He worked out of a newly opened Civilian Protection Center of Excellence, where his supervisor was a veteran strike-team targeter who had served as a United Nations war crimes investigator.

Today, that momentum is gone. Bryant was forced out of government in cuts last spring. The civilian protection mission was dissolved as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made “lethality” a top priority.

Now wonder you nitwits are so misinformed. You're too lazy to read.

The regime made a choice to prioritize death over protecting civilian lives. 175 Iranians paid a price with their lives.

Lethality must be the top priority of our military. It certainly is for every other military on Earth.

That you don't know that shows how deeply you have fallen into the anti-American propoganda you cut-and-paste.
