Will Obama be remembered as the worst potus in US history?

Some will go to their graves claiming Obama was the worst President of all time. Others will go to their graves claiming he was the messiah or at least a damned good representation of the Messiah to come.

The fact is that it is too early to tell and it will be for a long, long time. Much of the troubles he is facing are not of his doing while some of it he is directly responsible for.

But, quite frankly, I would love to see this President pull a rabbit out of a hat and turn this economy around before the end of his first term. Not going to happen, but I can dream... can't I? And for the record, I don't think any of the past Presidents could fix the mess we have gotten ourselves into in that short of time.

Really? Because the Depression of 1921 was far more severe than our current downturn and was over within a year. The solution is simple. Allow interest rates to rise, allow businesses to fail, and let the economy restructure. The restructure will happen. Current policy is only prolonging the restructuring process and creating regime uncertainty.

Not even close. The worst POTUS EVER is reserved for George W. Bush. He is solely RESPONSIBLE for the DEATHS of TENS OF THOUSANDS of innocent people and our troops for NO GOOD REASON.

And (I had to look this up) it was about 18 months not less than a year... of course that is from Wiki so I may be wrong on that. And if I am not mistaken, 18 months is more time than Obama has... Oh oh, that will get some dander up!

Also, things are different today, just technology itself can benefit or hinder the recovery and I am afraid that the divided status of this nation will hinder the recover for a long time.

He'll have to go a long way to match the destruction wrought by Wilson, FDR or LBJ....But he is giving it the old college try.

I'll give you Wilson, FDR with caveats, LBJ? Not so much. Both FDR and LBJ did address some issues domestically that needed addressing, though neither personally bought into the rationales. Nope, I don't mean the "New Deal" stuff or "War on Poverty" stuff. I mean race and class issues. FDR also did some very shrewd moves on the foreign front, cutting off Japan's oil and steel not being one of them.

LBJ has the blood of more than 63,000 young American boys, and countless Vietnamese, on his hands...All killed on a pack of lies.

Yeah, that easily qualifies him as the worst president in my lifetime and one of the top (or bottom, such as it is) five in American history.

Actually, it gets worse. LBJ ordered the summary execution of the sailors in the USS Liberty because he was looking for a pretext to invade Egypt which at the time was a Soviet Satellite.

Everything above except for the first two statements, which sounds more like an attempt to throw out code words, is damned near tried and true Liberal Democrat Talking Points Memo material. By the way, you forgot "Bush's" costly wars.

I'm not a true Libertarian, but I think if you want to label yourself, you might want to consider liberal democrat rather than Libertarian. On the other hand, you have every right to associate yourself with whomever you would like to associate yourself. I just don't see where you see yourself as being Libertarian. For instance, Libertarians do not support a woman's right to legal abortions. They feel that the government should have no say in the matter, same thing with gay marriage and I believe gay adoption as well. Then again just like Democrats and Republicans no Libertarian agrees whole heartedly with any other Libertarian.

By the way, which view of the 1st Amendment rights do you support. The far left belief in the suppression of religious freedoms or a separation of church and state? I suppose some could say that the idea of Separation of Church and State is a right wing interpretation, but I see it as what the founding fathers intended. Who knows maybe I am far right? /shrug

Oh and for the record, for the most part there is nothing wrong with being a liberal Democrat so I don't mean to sound like I think there is anything wrong with that. But then just as there are some wacky far right loons inhabiting this board there are many far left loons as well.

I do not support taxes for the middle class - libertarians would change our tax system, but they wouldn't exempt any specific group, everyone is a citizen

I support less government - Too vague. what government don't you support?

That said, the bulk of them believe that it should be regulated at the state level.

The man is in no way a leader. His administration is a friggin' joke.

It became quite clear that the man couldn't lead a lil' ol' lady acroos the street without her being crushed by a bus when he had to have ol' William Jethro take the podium for him and do the talking for him. And of course, when Netanyahu (A true leader) thoroughly schooled his sorry ass before the worlds eyes.......He no longer commands respect, both here and across the world.
