I support this idea. I need an iPhone 16 besides, we are saving tons of money anyway, so it is only fair to give it a portion to the taxpayers.

Imagine yourself attending a town meeting as a resident of a tiny town of 50, trying to set spending priorities for the next fiscal year. The mayor tells repeated lies about wasteful spending. Wasteful spending is unpopular so half the town believes the lies, which may result in interference with essential services. Residents who believe the mayor can't be persuaded by the facts so decisions get made based on lies.

I'm going to fight Climate Change with my check. This year when it gets hot and I watch the Red Sox under an electric blanket that I use because my air conditioner is big enough to cool a gymnasium, I keep a college-dorm-sized beer-loaded refridgerator beside may couch while I cheer the boys on. I keep the room about the temperature of a walk-in cooler. I have to put on a fur coat and boots to get to the bathroom. I may look into a device to cathaterize myself so I do not have to get up. My wife is against it for some reason.

Writing all of the taxpayers a check probably is not a great idea to begin with. My point is that those critical of Musk/Trump trying to save the taxpayer money by weeding out waste and think nothing of the waste and inefficiencies of the status quo are in no position to judge a stimulus or refund to the taxpayer.

The Department of Government Efficiency, run by Trump adviser Elon Musk, published an updated list Monday of nearly 2,300 contracts that agencies terminated in recent weeks across the federal government. Data published on DOGE’s “Wall of Receipts” shows that more than one-third of the contract cancellations, 794 in all, are expected to yield no savings.
