Will any poster want to go to Las Vegas?

My dad and I went to Zaire and saw the Ali- Foreman fight, most people thought that Ali would literally be carried out on a stretcher, I placed a bet on Ali because I really believed that he had the right style to test big George. After the ferocious beating that he laid on Joe Frazier, a lot of people thought he was unbeatable.
Dang, you purty old. That's alright. Did Howard Cosell commentate any of those fights?
Ali had the moves to outdo George Foreman.
I like teh Tyson moves. He knows how to do it.
This is some real stuff here. He knew how to not be there.

I reckon he slipped about 14 punches there. Gotta be some kind of record.
My record is 1/2 that, and I ain't as good as him.

Lol! I'm old but still here. The one fight that I saw live when Cossel did commentary was Foreman vs Frazier.

The video that you posted was from 1977, and it was an exhibition with a 19 year old guy named Michael Dokes who went on to moderate success in the heavyweight division, a few years later.

The number of punches that Ali was able to avoid in 10 seconds was 21

Ali had skills and talent.
Modesty? Eh, we'll get back to that later.

IDK. The free drinks and reasonable meals are gone. Low cost flights are still around if you shop, but lodging isn't much of a deal anymore. Buffets that charge over $50 are ridiculous. LOL, quite a difference from the $2.99 baron of beef buffet that used to be common.
The Indian Casino's have been hurting Nevada casino's for years now.

So, Vegas has been trying to turn itself into a Disneyland esque destination for the entire family. Parts of it work, but most don't.

Ultimately Vegas is a two tier system, those with money, and those without.

If you have money it's great. If you don't you're roasting in the very hot desert Sun.

I think ..no that was in Whorelando where I saw Seal at the Hard Rock.
I know a classic Vegas song, though.

Deano helped make Vegas what it is.
So did Wayne Newton and Tom Jones, for that matter.

Vegas has some great live entertainment.
Bands, singers, magic shows, comedians
Yes, we have been to Vegas multiple times. We have spent a total of $5 on gambling. Vegas is great to catch comedians, shows, and concerts.

Sitting by the pool sipping mai tais is a good use of time as well.

Drinks are what $20? Sitting in blazing hot sun with a sweet drink? Umbrella sissy?

Legal Online Sports betting has to be wiping out the old walk up window in the casino.

Please do. See how much real dead time in a live football game. Report back. Bring a stopwatch.
I had great times at LA Raiders Games in the early - middle 80s , never made it to an Oakland Game but wish I had so I would enjoy a Vegas game ( Pre or Regular or Playoffs )

That and online poker too.

Vegas used to be THE destination for gambling. But that hasn't been true for nearly 30 years now.

It's amazing to me how blissfully ignorant of the world these people are.

I went to some Raiders and As' games. Always great weather. Day on the Greens there too in the Colesium. Greatful Dead or Warrior games in the indoor right next door. Yes, at one time I actually lived. I had a life at one time. But work and.....

I spent many days in the Oakland coliseum as well. A's, Raiders and quite a few days on the green. I saw the Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Grateful Dead, and Elton John there at one of them.

Ali was actually a better fight promoter than most professional promoters out there. He once said early in his career, "There are just as many people who come to my fights to see me get beaten, as there those who cheer me on because they say that I talk too much".

Away from the ring, he was personally very humble.
