Why Would Trump's Handlers Allow Him to Keep Taking Actions That Are Unlawful: Pritzker calls Trump funding freeze ‘illegal' after judge blocks order

This is a very interesting perspective from the inside. Illinois has joined in with many other states in bringing this lawsuit. A temporary stay until February 3rd has been issued.

One of the allegations or the main allegation is that only Congress has the authority over the purse and the ability to change funding & allocations made long before Trump took to office.

What I've been finding out is that many laws and programs that Trump has taken his hachet to, cannot be altered by executive order.

Remember when Obama said "I've got a pen and I've got a phone."?

"We're not just going to be waiting for legislation," Obama announced. "I've got a pen and I've got a phone…and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions."

This is the logical extension of that philosophy.

But somehow Democrats only cry foul when a Republican does it.

Didn’t xiden move funds that congress authorized for other programs? Paying school loans comes to mind. Precedence is set by xiden

Just because a leftist judge says that the exec order is "illegal" doesn't mean it is.

And she is far left.

Not true.

The Impoundment Control Act (ICA), says a President can order a temporary delay.

A deferral is a temporary delay in spending certain funds with the intent to spend them before their expiration. The mechanism was designed to provide for contingencies, savings (e.g., pending completion of internal reviews of planned investments to ensure efficient allocation of resources)...

Nothing burger. Trump has the authority to temporarily halt funding for anything in order to investigate the funding. More democrat BS. See Post #18.
