China anymore. The world has changed. America needs to retool and reevaluate it's education system. But we keep fighting old battles, resisting the inevitable progress we see in the trade deals...it's all about commerce and trade. We can no longer retreat into America as the big kid on the block.

Many people can't find a job making a decent wage because their skills are low because they quit school. As a result, when they can't support themselves, they demand taxpayers provide them that support despite their inability to do so being solely because of a choice they made. They qualify based on the means testing but why should the rest of us go with less in order that someone causing their situation be taken care of?

Many people can't find a job making a decent wage because their skills are low because they quit school. As a result, when they can't support themselves, they demand taxpayers provide them that support despite their inability to do so being solely because of a choice they made. Low skilled jobs have moved on. Education has historically not been needed to get a good job in America. Many companies used to offer education grants and promotions to workers with education deficits.

I'm not denying educational levels need to be raised. What I'm saying is the world is rapidly changing and America is falling behind -- not because shitty jobs have moved overseas.

High end manufacturing is doing well in the USA. We need an educated manufacturing force from inside. It isn't that people drop out of school early so much as it is there are no policies and programs to put Americans onto paths to success. It is how Germany and Japan and other nations do it.

If education isn't needed to get a good job, as you say, why do so many lefties push for free college tuition so we can have qualified, educated people?

Plenty of them since there are many educated people that do very well financially. They're the ones you demand offset financially the bad results of poor choices people make to quit school.

Should military spending be cut in your opinion?

Hell yeah. Military spending is mostly about enriching fat cats at Lockheed, Monsonato, DuPont, and Haliburton not national defense.

Using your thought process, the law says that the current military spending is $X. Too ******* bad if you don't like it and that's using YOUR way of thinking. As predicted, it's OK and the law when it's something you support but wrong if you don't.

By the way, the Constitution delegates authority to spend on the military. Not one word in it mentions food stamps, WIC , MediCAID, healthcare, etc. I support what the Constitution actually says. You support only what you want it to say.

Maybe that's because there was no such thing as food stamps, WIC , MediCAID then. However, "provide for the general welfare" is in the constitution.
