Why won't Americans do the "Jobs Americans won't Do?

Yes, there are some jobs that Americans will not work, that illegal aliens will work. The reason is simple:

It is against the law for them to work them.

Working for less than the minimum wage is illegal, and the penalties for employers include significant fines, paying back wages plus liquidated damages, court costs, and reputational damage. Employees can recover unpaid wages and potential attorney fees by filing a lawsuit, either privately or through the Department of Labor. In Texas, the state minimum wage adopts the federal rate by reference, so employers must comply with the federal minimum wage.

Penalties for a dangerous workplace can include large fines, criminal charges, and jail time for employers, depending on the severity of the violation. Fines are issued by OSHA for violations of safety regulations and can range from thousands to over $150,000 per violation for egregious cases. A willful violation resulting in employee death can lead to criminal penalties, including imprisonment, in addition to substantial fines.

Sure, it is also against the law for non-Americans to work such jobs. But by the act of crossing the border illegally, illegal aliens volunteer for a life of lawlessness, working for labor criminals. By working for five dollars an hour in dangerous conditions, they push out an American worker who would have to be paid $7.25 per hour in a workplace that complies with safety regulations.

That is why there are "jobs Americans won't do."

My first job after leaving the Army was working in a warehouse, and within less than a year and a half, I was promoted to floor supervisor.

Everyone hated those jobs; they didn't pay well, and when the economy got better, thanks to Clinton, we couldn't fill them.

I took the opportunity to enroll in additional classes so I could transition to an office job at the first available opportunity.

Why did you try to hide what you were trying to say here?

You are blaming the H1Bs for a combination of corporate greed and American laziness.

I guess when in doubt, blame a brown person, it's the MAGA way!

Heres what american workers are figuring out. In the end, nobody cares one iota how hard you worked. Not one single person. Someday you are going to pass away and the very ladt thing anybody cares about is how hard of a worker one is. A job is a means to a paycheck, thats it. No more no less. It doesnt define a person. "Take pride in your work" and other such nonsense isnt flying, anymore. Ova.

Yeah, that's good and all. Family should come first. But the way you provide for a family is through hard work.

Personal pride in a job well-done. Clearly you've never had any init.

Answer my question init--
Oinkonomics

You assume that profit margins are set in stone. But increases in wages can, must, and will be taken out of the owner's profits instead. Your slanted Plutelicking logic omits that alternative, treating wage increases as theft of Porky Pig's property.

I don't understand why we can't use portions of the prison populations for this cause.

Seriously.

You are one of these people who miss slavery, aren't you?

The problem with Prison Labor is that it isn't cost-efficient. The workers aren't particularly motivated and you have to provide guards to make sure they don't escape or tamper with the product.

Conservatism- the Cruelty is the Point.

You seem to think that I believe prisoners should be forced to work in the fields.

I don't.

I think they should make it voluntary and possibly incentivize it with reduced sentences, pay, or other benefits.

Sorry to discourage you from painting me as the image in your head, Joey.
