This is pretty rare in Texas, and 11th hour reprieve, but not from the Governor.

Considering how much Texas has gotten wrong in the past, and that the medical definition that convicted him is no longer considered an accurate diagnosis, it was the right thing to do here.

Normally I'm in favor of capital punishment.

I honestly think life in prison is a worse sentence then the death penalty.

The problem with the death penalty is too many people are found innocent or wrongly convicted. If they are sentenced to life in prison they can always be released if later they are found to be innocent. You can't do that with the death penalty. If a man is mistakenly put to death and years later evidence shows they were innocent...oops can't resurrect him and say sorry we goofed.

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday ruled that a legislative subpoena cannot be used to stop an execution after Republican and Democratic lawmakers used the novel maneuver to pause Robert Roberson's lethal injection at the last minute.

The ruling addressed a subpoena issued for Roberson by the Texas House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee last month that was seen as a way to delay his execution.

I follow all death cases. I recall this one pretty well. He is alive still. But not Ashli Babbitt and when do you intend to deal with her death?

Ashli Babbitt was warned to withdraw and she refused
She was leading an attack on Congress and paid the price.

The court case is in 2026 where I hope they get rewarded 30 million dollars. She was not warned. She never led an attack.
