Why was TV sci fi infantile in the early 2010s?

Syfy announces its new reality series slate

What happened?

Did people stop dreaming of the future?

Why couldn't we have had a show where the space race never ended? Show us what we can be if we decided to dream and aspire.



Or did "Game of Thrones" suck out all the hot air out of the room.

Loved GOT but it would have been could if sci fi was smart too.

There are plenty of new science fiction shows out there but I think folks are tired of paying for the baker's dozen of streaming services to watch them.
