I don’t think he WANTS to work with anyone across the aisle and never has. It doesn’t fit with his world view where there has to be a winner and a loser and conflict is preferred over cooperation. Working with the Dems mean they must be made to end up as the losers.

Trump is almost 80. At best he's got 10 more years of enjoyable life ahead of him.

He is beholden to no one. He is above bribery, he can't be threatened or coerced and he is very, very smart with the smartes people in the world advising him.

This administration is very, very, VERY different from his first one when everybody was afraid of him, nobody wanted to be associated with him, when the DISGUSTING FILTH was running roughshod over American Politics and could ruin a person with mere innuendo. When we had totally corrupt DOJ, FBI and media.

If you meant he is overreaching economically..... That is possible. It is possible that China will be China and its arrogance overcome its good sense.

But I don't think so. Not anymore. China can no longer isolate itself like they used to. Their people have a taste of good living and they like it. They won't go back to living like the pig farmers in communist North Korea. Xi can't do that. No way.

Xi will either cave or his own people will take him down. Count on it. He isn't one of the Kim boys. China has an active political culture. If Xi screws the pooch, he will be gone. One way or the other.

Nations are realizing the US is not a trustworthy partner and can not be counted on. In the process we are already seeing shifts AWAY from the US in trade, defense and other cooperative alliances. Countries are now finding they don’t need the US or that there are other partners they can work with. In the process we are ceding our ability to influence things on a global stage to countries like China.

In the long term, Trump has destroyed our credibility as a nation and that isn’t going to be easy to fix.

In addition…to say he is above bribery is laughable in the way he has used his position to extort law firms into providing free services for his causes.

The US has had NO international credibility for at least sixty years that I can personally attest to. The US gov't doesn't even have credibility domestically.
