JFK was also the last Democrats who understood that freedom isn't free, that it has to be fought for, and that America could not idly sit by and watch the allies of freedom face the growing darkness only to be snuffed out one by one on their own, that the US had to forge an alliance and stand with them . He declared that this country would bear any burden and make any sacrifice to stand with those who fought for freedom! Just about every Liberal since them has condemned any military action to stand with allies and fight beside those fighting oppression and for their freedom.
The ONLY one since Kennedy who even tried to use the military for anything significance - not counting Obama's taking this country to war on his own to help Al '9/11/01' Qaeida take over Libya - was Carter. Carter, again, at least DEMANDED the release of our hostages and at least TRIED to get them back! Obama wanted his 'legacy' so badly that he didn't even ASK for our hostages back because he thought doing so would jeopardize his deal and thus his legacy!

2008 - look it up! Obama declared the War on Terrorism was over and that Al Qaeida was on the run...despite that over 20 US Embassies had been attacked, 4 overrun, and 4 Americans killed on 9/11/12! Obama also declared the war to be over, declared he was bringing the troops home - no boots on the ground (nothing like him taking credit for following a withdrawal timeline established by BUSH!)!

Why was Jimmy Carter a bad president? No wars?Its funny that this thread was created just now because I just got done telling someone a few seconds ago how Reagan was the most corrupt president ever at the time.
Reagan is everywhere because he was the president that got the ball rolling for the destruction of america that every president since then has followed and expanded upon.Since he was the pioneer grandfather of them all that got the ball rolling,he is worshipped everywere so that is why his name is everywhere.
Our corrupt schools are still teaching kids that he was a great president.
