Both extremes in this country have something utterly fucked about them.
Conservatives want the rich to pay far less than the middle class. This weakens our middle class and grants the rich even more of the pie.
Conservatives want to cut investment into our own country. ONLY THE RICH should be able to do that. During the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's America could freely build infrastructure and fund science. This is why we became a super power. Conservatives are blind to this. We don't compete with China without investment.

Extreme liberals...This list is long. Let's just say they kiss ass with our enemies, start violence between racial groups and believe that two parent families are evil. Their way is a sad one. I don't play the 'liberal' vs 'conservative' narrative, as whoever wins the elections does a great job of messing things up.

Whether by stagnation or design, democracy is dying, and the future is corporatocracy.

I could bother defending better economic ideas, but the false free market of neo-liberalism won; whereas planned economics and free market economics lost. Pretty sure that it will eventually lead to ruin (both economically and politically), not that I can guess when that will be.

I hope to be dead and buried before America sells the last vestiges of its freedom for a 'little' more security or a quick buck.

No point being naive like futurists and believing that robots, flying cars, mining asteroids, or talking toasters, will change human behavior.
