The HIGHEST RATE OF TRAFFIC FATALITIES BY AGE is the age group of 16-34, and the second highest rate is among drivers 35 - 54. Of all age groups in 5 year blocks, the least traffic fatalities are in the age group of 75 - 79.

PS - the 75 - 79 year old age group has the least traffic fatalities, despite their lower capability to recover from physical injury, than younger people.

PPS - before anybody gets huffy about the higher numbers of males, there are far more male drivers on the road, including trucks, taxis, etc

I happen to be an "older" driver, as are all my siblings and friends. We drive a hell of a lot.

The numbers are lower because we're more careful, and not young and stupid. We also don't drink or do drugs.
