Why I carry a handgun, 2024

Your concession is accepted.
No concession of anything, fly over to the feedback section, I told members a while back that I don't do butchered multi quotes. If some around here communicate in that way with friends, family, in the pub etc.. that's weird.

The only thing I concede is, I glanced and saw a multi quote so I didn't read it and moved on.

I already accepted your concession. You don't need to concede again.

What a surprise, the spineless lefty atheist doesn't "approve" of religion. Make no mistake serf, if your godverment ordered you to, you'd have your powerless ass in a pew every Sunday.
Do they actually let you teach kids ?

Nobody wants to hear a grown man whine.

Moments ago I had to have a little talk (and a short review) with the wife and my oldest son about keeping the fixed blades I have given and trained them on with them at all times.

If I can wake up early enough, more H2H training tomorrow.

What is with these Nancy’s?

My 93 year old mother goes in public without a gun
She is not afraid
This nation was awash with firearms even when I was a youngster, many decades ago. Rifles hung inside the cabs of pickup trucks, with no fear of them being stolen or used illegally. My first experience with a firearm was at the age of 8, shooting my older brother's 45-70 Sharps. By 10, I had a .22 pump action for shooting varmints on my uncle's farm. At 17, the draft was on, so I joined the military, eventually making a career of it and becoming familiar with the M-16 and the 9mm pistol (actually bringing my own 9mm since the ammo was the same.
Now, we have massive gang violence, robberies, carjacking, home-invasions, fools shooting persons they are just arguing with and idiots driving down streets, just shooting at homes in general. The times have changed.
If you look at the vast, vast majority of firearms in all of these crimes, its pistols, not the AR-15 style semi-automatic rifles. In 2023, 48,000+ people died by firearms. 54% of those were suicides, so counting them as crimes by death is misleading. If you take a firearm away from a suicidal person, they just change their method of killing themselves to pills, knives/razor blades, hanging, electrocution, jumping off high structures, or stepping in front of moving vehicles. Of the remaining number, there are idiots that fall into the "Darwin Awards" category. Simple stupidity with a firearm and firearms not stored properly away from kids.
As I live in a very populace area and there is gang activity, break-ins and carjacking, I carry a firearm. I don't really give a damn what you think of me for doing so.
As for the AR-15 style rifles. That Second Amendment was the second Amendment put into the Constitution because our founders realized how valuable the assistance by citizens forming militias to fight against the tyrannical government on our soil at the time was. It helped win the war. You know, that pesky part of the Amendment that states, "being necessary for a FREE STATE."
If our nation were to become Marxist, that would eliminate our freedoms, as the Constitution and Marxism are incompatible, since Marxism doesn't allow political opposition, thus ending democracy, as silencing any political opposition is in itself anti-democracy. So, to keep a state free from such tyranny, we the people could, per the Constitution, form our own regulated militias to fight a domestic tyrannical government. Thus, the AR-15, while not ideal when fighting, would at least be something and when the president said, "you'd have to have F-15's to fight the government," he clearly didn't pay attention to that 20 year war we lost against the equivalent of pajama-clad guerillas, wearing turbans, sandals and carrying AK-47's, AK-74's, improvised explosives and RPG's. There's also the factor of many of our own troops not siding with the government.
