Oh, so the flags could be lowered for the victims of the Charleston shooting but not for the victims of the Chattanooga shooting? Let me guess: You see nothing inconsistent about that.

If the flags on military bases were lowered every time a terrorist killed a service member, it would probably be at half mast 365 days a year.

A pathetic argument. We're talking about shootings **on American soil** where unarmed military personnel are murdered. Terrorists don't kill a soldier every day on American soil.

And of course some liberals are still "wondering" and trying to figure out why Abdulazeez attacked two military offices and killed four Marines. Gosh, now why did he do that?

We've got every lib and their mother freaking out that Trump supposedly insulted the Democrats loved and revered military (I almost bazooka barfed typing that) BUT nothing on Obama's lack of lowering the flags for those who died in this terrorist attack on US soil?

He did it for Fort Hood, the Aurora mass killing, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook after all.

Thank goodness this mayor and others know they had to do the "right thing".

Mayor Sal Panto of Easton, PA got tired of waiting for a proclamation from the White House ordering all US flags flown on government property to be lowered to half staff to honor our Marines killed in the terrorist attack in Chattanooga.

So even though he didn't have the authority, Panton lowered the town's flag early Saturday morning.

The rest of us are wondering why the president hasn't acted.

Since the 1960s (when the Left became critical of the Vietnam policy) your party has gone to the electoral bank on its supposed concern for the troops.

In every election cycle starting with Carter, you never tire of claiming how much you love the troops. Indeed, Bush protected his terribly executed Iraq Policy from criticism by saying that any criticism of his execution would "hurt the troops". Anytime a democrat even questioned Bush's execution of the war, from the battle plan to the Constitution-shredding Patriot Act, that Democrat was accused of treason, of harming the troops who you loved so, so, so much.

And then when McCain ran for the president, you shoved his service down our throats (just as passionately as you destroyed Kerry for facing bullets that Bush dodged).

Put simply: you are the party that cares about the troops. You tell us every day. Yet, when Trump, your current media darling, takes a shit on a war veteran and specifically attacks him for getting captured (which capture and subsequent torture you told us was the highest sacrifice) somehow ... [wait for it] some-*******-how you ignore it. You let your presidential candidate take a bigger shit on our military than anyone since Bill Ayers - and you say nothing.

So yes, we're pointing out your hypocrisy because we know you don't care about the troops. We're not defending McCain from Trump because we don't take Trump seriously. You do, and that is our point.

The murders on Chatanooga were certainly a tragic event.

"The president may order the flag to be flown at half-staff to mark the death of other officials, former officials, or foreign dignitaries. In addition to these occasions, the president may order half-staff display of the flag after other tragic events."
