Why has the left cancelled Martin Luther King, Jr?

Why? After 50 years, do Conservatives still misinterpret MLKs statement?

MLK SUPPORTED Affirmative Action
How do conservatives misinterpret MLKs statement about judging people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin?
ConservatIves are somewhat simple creatures. They take everything literally

MLK wanted to level the playing field. He understood that declaring equality was a long way from achieving it.

You deny he said this?

For decades, the left preached MLK’s message to not judge someone by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

Now, they do not judge by the content of their character, but by the color of their skin.

When did this change and why?
This is part of our supreme law of the land:

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

Some on the left understand that Constitutional concept.

Does this mean we have to give up the MLK Holiday now?

You Bastards!

Rap music changed it?

Wow. I did not see that coming!

Kill whitey

fuck the police?

not what Martin was for.
They are the empowered ones now. There may still be issues but when an event happens or anything seems amiss, they get the grease for the squeaky wheel. Our younger generations are suffering for this.

Since it doesn't exist ,what is the point? Whites are just inherently more intelligent.

So you're saying we shouldn't take MLK seriously when he said we should judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. You're a lying dog-faced pony soldier.
Lets look at it this way

Dr King thought Black Lives Matter
He died for it

Sure he said that, but he also believed that, in the meantime, "A society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for the Negro".

He was for affirmative action and reparations.

MLK was for white and black anti poverty policies. He said there were more poor whites than blacks so every poor person should have better lives.

Did Dr. King believe all lives matter?

What Dr King witnessed was lynching, bombings, children tortured and murdered and those who did it were not prosecuted.

He was well aware that Black Lives Did not matter at all

So no, all lives did not matter. Even his own

Dr King supported redistribution of wealth

For everyone, white and black.

It's childish to use one line about poverty to pretend that MLK's focus wasn't on the black condition. There wasn't some grander all-inclusive philosophy involving whites as well. Must serve some weird liberal purpose to paint it that way.

Wrong again
Before he was killed, MLK was shifting focus to distribution of wealth, healthcare and poverty

The Poor People's Campaign was motivated by a desire for economic justice: the idea that all people should have what they need to live. King and the SCLC shifted their focus to these issues after observing that gains in civil rights had not improved the material conditions of life for many African Americans. The Poor People's Campaign was a multiracial effort—including African Americans, white Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Indigenous people—aimed at alleviating poverty regardless of race.

You are rewriting history. That was formed the year of MLKs assassination and led by Abernathy. You are ignoring all of MLKs writings and speeches up to that point, which were laser focused on black issues. It's not a bad thing, so don't know why you all feel it needs to be recast to include concern for whitey. Again, it's one of those weird liberal tells that indicates what they really think.

For decades, the left preached MLK’s message to not judge someone by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

Now, they do not judge by the content of their character, but by the color of their skin.

When did this change and why?
Ronald Reagan nailed it when he said "Blacks still aren't comfortable wearing shoes". In other words, you can take the chimps out of the jungle but you can't take the jungle out of the chimps.

The left cancelled MLK because something Reagan said? What the fuck are you talking about?

Are you in the wrong thread?

No, the left cancelled MLK because he was a bible thumping blow hard who liked to beat up White women.

Except that now, Black people are judging Whites by the color of their skin. I guess Blacks also knew that MLK was a bible thumping blow hard who liked to beat up White women.
