Why don't people care about real magic?

I don't mean Penn and Teller style illusions. I don't mean any bullshit Hermetic "ye olde magjicke". I mean sex. Your ability to come together with someone else to create a brand new and independent human being with her own personality and thoughts and feelings and hopes and dreams. Why doesn't our culture give a damn about that scientifically explainable yet incredible magic anymore?
