Why doesn't the US government ban porn?

The government does not need to censor anymore than they have.

The Endowment for the Arts already provides censorship, the government needs to but out of all of it.

I also don't believe porn is a freedom of anything, it is filth and doesn't add anything positive to society. My personal opinion.
It keeps a large number of Californians off of welfare.

It isn't a "private sex life" if you publish it.

With parental controls, the internet is private enough. It is not the place of the government to regulate what consenting people over 18 do sexually in private, nor is it anyone else's (except for God & Prophets) business what consenting people over 18 do sexually in private. Would you agree?

Peace.

Porn is an outlet for disaffected males. ban it and they would have to find something else to do, and we probably don't want that.

"Porn" is adult entertainment...it is not "only for disaffected males." It is for any male or female who wants to participate in that sex-business.

Is it the place of the government to regulate the private sex life of consenting adults?...

Peace.
For that matter, nobody is forced to look at it or buy it, and, half of what is regular TV programming would have brought arrests in the first two decades of TV.

Hell, the Grammys are porn.

You are obviously not a fan of the "educational value" of National Geographic

Lol...you obviously did not address my question. Are you a "Christian" race-hate spewer lol?

Calling someone from Africa a "jungle woman" can be offensive. Would you be offended if I referred to women specifically from Europe as "cave women" (as Europe has alot of caves.)

Get a life, doodoo man lol.

yes, the entertainment value is the prime purpose, but a side effect is that it is an outlet for males who can't get it any other way. Muting the sex drive of these guys probably lowers crime rates.

The grammys are playboy porn, not Swank porn.

Mmmmm. Swank Porn.

Now we all know its a billion dollar business annually, However; There is a lot of speculation that excessive pornography can rot the brain, ruin relationships, can become addictive and etc, to the point that it may ruin someone's life. With that said, why cant the united states government ban pornography?
It has in the past. However those laws were thrown out because they were unconstitutional.

Wouldn't bother me....it is not offensive to call a picture of a woman who lives in the jungle a jungle woman
But they do have nice boobies

Not a fan of the Geographic? You must have missed out on those pre-Playboy days

You can't force your values on others...America is supposed to be what the people want and I know that the majority of Americans want adult entertainment videos & images legal LOLOL.

Because the abomination of hypocrisy is worse and the right doesn't have the moral fortitude to ban that.

Yeah, it's just entertainment for ADULTS who have the natural feelings/urges/drives that ADULTS have...who the hell else's business is it lol?

I wonder why the OP put this in the religion section instead of the politics section...

Peace.

Hey, I'm not for banning porn. I'm just pointing out banning it could lead to issues that one would not expect.

This has been debated over and over when it comes to "loli" animated porn, which depicts underage girls. The debate is over banning it, and if said porn is actually used as an outlet for people with pedo urges as a release that prevents them from acting on those urges in real life.

I am an African-American and I am telling you that the term "jungle woman" can be offensive to someone of African descent.

I don't go for cave women, so I'm not a fan of Playboy...

Peace.

People who involve those who haven't matured yet in sex-business should be killed, I think.

If prostitution was legal, there could be ways to make sure that all of the sex-workers are mature and of age.

Peace.
