Why does Obama get a pass on his many major failures ?

I think it's because he has nothing to go back to.

His brand has been badly tarnished, his bussiness is bleeding money, his debts are coming due, his legal problems are many and he doesn't have executive immunity and get-out-of-jail-free crads to throw around anymore.

His life is coming to a final act and without winning the second term he will go down as one of the worst presidents and *GASP* a loser - something he fears more than probably anything else.
If the election for president was tomorrow, would there be enough Americans voting for him so that he wouldn't need to depend on cheating?

I suspect so, judging by the hateful and racist demeanour being demonstrated by so many Americans.

And who can say that Trump will be eliminated from the race before November 24?
It could be that much hinges on the fortunes of Rittenhouse. He represents the great hope on which Chauvin couldn't deliver.

So your excuse for how bad Obama was is to say Trump is bad. How original.

I think that without Obama, Trump couldn't have even become a viable candidate. Trump's main appeal by far was in using racism to energize the south mainly, and then that infected the north in considerable quantity.

The plain fact is, Obama could never be accepted by the American south that still felt so much hurt over a black man becoming their president.

Don't we see that hurt being demonstrated here on this board every day?

He was able to move on and do other things. To me that is the oddest thing about Trump, out of all the people to be POTUS in my lifetime, he had the most to go back to, yet he cannot let go. He is the only POTUS in my lifetime that still uses his official title after leaving office and still puts out weekly/daily notes from the Desk of whatever number POTUS they were.
Trump was a failure in nearly every business endeavour he attempted. There was little he could go back to except the racist politics that he accepted as easy gain.
Hitler stooped to the same level because he couldn't find any other opportunity.

That's so backwards it's almost funny.
The MEDIA totally used racism against Trump.
Yes, the media does capitalize on Trump's racism.
Trump has a long history of racism that goes back much further than his bid for the presidency.
America teeters on the edge of fascism and racism is one of the essential quantities.

Except for the pandemic that was 100 % China's fault, the left has nothing on Trump, so they use racism. In fact , it's the other way around, more every day as the truth of the last 5 years emerges from past the media wall.

Of the recent presidents in the US, going back to Johnson, the only 2 to ever receive the Nobel Peace prize are Jimmy Carter (who actually deserved it in 2002) and Barack Obama, who clearl did not deserve it.

Not to rain on our ominous parade of peaceful leaders in the last 60 years, but only Jimmy Carter truly deserved the award, and even he was 'in charge' while covert activities were happening in Iran, Central America and elsewhere. Most of us are painfully aware of our other open foreign policy mistakes (putting it nicely) but what about the things our press fails to inform us about, like the Ukraine, Syria and Libya ?

Which brings us back to Obama. Mr audacity still selling his books
at every Target and Walmart.
From 2015
2019
What were some of the early signs that those hoping for an anti-war president would be sorely disappointed?

Well Obama held onto [Bush appointee] Robert Gates as secretary of defense. That was not a necessary move by him. It more or less ensured that the wars would go on. Gates was by no means extreme, but he’s a firm believer in American global military reach.

The appointment of Hillary Clinton as secretary of state was the largest single indication of this, though. During the campaign, Obama had disagreed strongly with Hillary Clinton on foreign policy. Then he appointed her as secretary of state.

The first Obama administration – the cabinet of 2009 to 2013, roughly speaking – was like a third Clinton administration. And I still don’t quite know why he did it. People have said that the Clintons would have formed a second pole of the Democratic Party, that they would have undermined Obama, and he needed to make friends with them.

I was never convinced by that. I think it’s just a very general tendency to placate on his part, and it had big consequences for the future of Syria, Ukraine, Libya and elsewhere.

What happened in Syria;

Why do you criticize Obama over his being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, when he had nothing to do with either his nomination or the award? Unlike Donald Trump, Obama certainly didn't campaign for the award and seemed just as surprised as the rest of us when it was given to him.

It would have been rude to decline the honor, yet you clowns are just bat shit crazy about a foreign entity bestowing an award on Obama.

It makes no sense whatsoever the things right wingers fixate on, but the ugly cloud of racism hangs over all of their sour grapes where Obama is concerned.

Well except graft, corruption, crimes against humanity, separating children and the parents at the Southern Border, Charlottesville, January 6th, pay for play at his golf clubs, the crashed economy and 700,000 dead Americans.

Trump is the first president in modern history to not get us into another endless war. He has been steadily bringing home troops.

He has negotiated with NATO members to "pony up" the agreed upon share of 2% GDP. No longer do we pay a disproportionate high percentage of the NATO budget. With Trump's America First policy, he understands that countries do not have friends, they have interests. As a result, countries respect us again.

He has stopped Russian aggression in Ukraine by supplying them weapons, not Obama blankets.

Trump has secured our southern border by building nearly 500 miles of improved fencing and negotiated with Mexico to mobilize 27,000 troops to the border.

He has brokered four Arab country peace agreements with Israel and moved our embassy to Jerusalem.

He signed a prison reform act that ended minority discrimination by the court system.

Until the China virus hit us this year, we had the best economy by several measures. We had the lowest unemployment numbers, highest labor participation rate, highest minority home ownership and highest wages. We are now rebuilding those numbers along with all-time stock market highs. He did this by lowering taxes and regulations.

He stopped travel from China before there was even one virus death in the U.S. Biden thought it was foolish of him to do so. He started a virus task force early on and fast-tracked a vaccine.

Trump accomplished this and more by being the most transparent president ever and by being harassed by the Democrats from day one with the phony Russian hoax. There was no collusion.

He legalized hemp also in his farm bill.

He had bad hair and you can't claim it wasn't his.

The better question would be, Why does Biden get a free pass on HIS many major failures?I

Isn't this thread about Former President Obama?
