Why Does My Google Look Like This?

Haha, gotcha'! You prolly thought I was gonna' post pics of my "member" right? Cheeky monkeys!

Anyway, when I went to "Google" something tonight this is what popped up;

Just the bare site with search window. Then after a few seconds the regular Google "faded in", if that's the right description:

Is there some holiday or historical reference I'm missing? I know Google does the seasonal dress ups with the site. I don't think it was always this way and it cant be specific to my computer. Is this some sort of new programming "trick" that will make it's rounds on all the sites until you just can't stand it anymore?

What's going on here?

Google is looking and running normal here.

Could be the new widgets they are working on .. perhaps it's responding slower on your machine than others, or maybe they had just finished a maintenance cycle as you loaded the page. As long as the address at the top doesn't change and it still works, I wouldn't worry about it.
