In some recent stats it says 93% of blacks are killed by other blacks. In the past 15 years in america its estimated that over 324,000 blacks have been killed at the hands of other blacks. Isnt it kind of ironic that they preach "black lives matter" but they obviously dont matter that much if they have such a high murder rate within their own race. Why is society so hesitant to admit that blacks are more violent as a whole than whites? I dont understand how its racist to say that. Its just the facts. Im not saying there arent any violent whites but when theres all this outrage about how many blacks are imprisoned it just doesn't make sense to me. Again i obviously understand there are plenty of blacks whom are none violent and good functioning members of society but their majority is not that way. i know yahoo answers isnt the type of place to have rational debate and discussion im sure i will be attacked and insulted for posting this but if you are mature enough to handle what ive said i would really appreciate and adult discussion as to why you feel what ive said is wrong.

For decades there has been no let up in the onslaught of critique. No, black on black homicide/crime has not been ignored at all. It is used prolifically to help underscore the perceived inferiority of all Blacks in the eyes of the civilized world.

Gang-bangers from South Chicago have somehow become a symbol that Black men are to be feared, but you don’t get the same fear that one could attach to the brutal murders committed by Neo-Nazi skinheads.

According to statistics from the Justice Department, White men are more likely to kill than any other racial group. When it comes to how and why people kill, Black men do, in fact, outnumber Whites in gun-related homicides, but especially drug-related offenses. However, White men top the list in most all other categories.

When the Bureau of Justice Statistics collected homicidal rates from 1980 to 2008, they found that compared to Blacks, Whites were more likely to kill children, the elderly, family members, and their significant others. They commit more sex-related crimes, gang related crimes, and are more likely to kill at their places of employment.

So why does America still perpetuate the lie of Black criminality?

Is it because one in 15 Black men are in prison? That may not explain it. The racial biases in the War on Drugs contribute to the high incarceration rates. Studies show that Blacks are no more likely than Whites to use or sell drugs. Blacks actually only make up 14 percent of regular drug users. Yet Blacks are more likely to be arrested for drug crimes, and receive longer sentences than Whites.

Should we blame gangster rap with the gun-toting rappers? If so, why can’t we blame a White man with a pistol being used to symbolize Second Amendment rights?

Is it because out of a general population of between 250-300 millions the paltry 200-400 black on white homicides per year do not add up to a hill of beans? There is plenty of media coverage showing Back leaders addressing black on black crime. Farakhan's Million Man March was well covered but Black Christians have made public overtures in that direction also:

Doesn't sound like they've been ignoring or excusing this sort of violence. Plenty of black leaders and organizations in Chicago and elsewhere spend a lot of time and energy trying to prevent crime in their communities. There are rallies, conferences, prayer vigils and gun turn-in days. Last year, thousands of volunteers manned "Safe Passage" routes to get children to school unharmed.

Have Riley and MacCallum and other critics publicized those events and programs? If not, why not? If so, why do they now act as though they don't exist?

Their charges have more than a whiff of condescension — implying that most blacks are unable to discern the greatest ills afflicting them. But black leaders can walk and chew gum at the same time. They can work to curb violence by blacks against blacks and also work to prevent the killing of unarmed African-Americans by police and vigilantes. Both are deeply undesirable.
