Why Do We Get SO Excited Over A Date Change?

Because of all the loss that I've endured over the past year, I'm not in a partying mood because going into another year feels like my family members are being left behind because with them being gone, it is obvious that they will not be coming into the new year with the rest of us who are still here.

Does anybody know? I love celebrating the start of the new year as well and I haven't got the slightest idea why.

Keep in mind, it's ONLY in western countries where this calendar is even used.

Don't really know you, or anything about your lost family members, but if they loved you, I'll bet they would want you to have as much happiness and joy as possible. Honor their memory. Don't let their loss prevent what they would want for you.
