Like it or not, some of those kids are being raised by same-sex couples. How would you like to handle that reality?

1. Ignore it and hope it never gets mentioned
2. Shame the children and their parents
3. Address it like other issues in a child's life: death, divorce, etc.

And I added a fourth.

Hopefully with an abundance of compassion. But our society seems to be running low on that these days. And no, it's not just one group. It's systemic. Even you are guilty of it.

That's hard to answer. Each case is different. Each person is different. Why wasn't it enough to say with an abundance of compassion? What part of that is confusing?

I'm not worried about Sesame Street and teaching children about respect for others is part of learning. We humans are not all alike. Face it. As far as sex is concerned it's a topic for discussion. IMO children need to be hearing conversation beginning about age 10 how much money, how much time and how many hours a day is necessary to raise a child. Medical costs etc etc etc. How many ways having children at young ages can disrupt a persons life and perhaps their future.
