First, it was not a ban on travel from China it was restrictions limiting travel. Americans and their family members in Wuhan and all of China were allowed to enter as well as diplomats and their families plus other select groups. Nearly 40,000 people had already entered the country from the area around Wuhan and 300,000 from China during Jan and Dec. Trump's idea of limiting travel was to stop travel from what he considered less friendly countries like China, Mexico and Iran, ignoring Europe. In February, cases began appearing in Europe which was where most the virus entered the US. Yet Trump refrained from banning Travel with Europe and other countries till mid to late March, listening his political and economic advisors instead the scientists which would become common place over the coming months.

Trump's idea of limiting travel was to stop travel from what he considered less friendly countries like China, Mexico and Iran, ignoring Europe. In February, cases began appearing in Europe which was where most the virus entered the US. Yet Trump refrained from banning Travel with Europe and other countries till mid to late March, listening his political and economic advisors instead the scientists which would become common place over the coming months.

Facts are facts. Trump invoked the Defense Production Act and does nothing with it. He tries to re-open when it is clearly not safe to do so. Look at Mike DeWine's performance. He took tough measures to get it under control. Other governors both Democrat and Republican, took tough steps to try and stop the spread of the coronavirus. I think the polls point to a distrust in Trump more than a trust in Biden. Maybe it is because if the US was as effective at containing the virus as Vietnam, Nigeria, or South Korea, 180,000 fewer Americans would be dead today. We have the 9th worse number of deaths per capita of all the countries on Earth

The reason people trust Biden is he does not try to play doctor. Biden says he will rely on doctors to advise him. Trump pushes all sorts of crazy cures with no evidence they do any good.
