Why do some Democrats want to pass new laws against violent crime, intead of enforcing the laws that are already on the books?

No they aren't...or they would be found not guilty by reason of insanity...if they were criminally insane.

That's just a silly comment and not based in reality...some folks do it because they simply are bad people, serial abusers, bullies, etc. Not for profit, or because they are criminally insane.

Wrong.
Some people will do bad things because they do not care about other people as much as they should,
Like when they want to rape, want money, etc.
But things like school shooting are usually suicides.
That is NEVER criminal and is always insane.
At least 10% of those imprisoned are actually just insane and should never have been imprisoned in the first place.
We have no other place to put dangerous people, even though prisons are not at all the right place for them.

Almost no one is found "not guilty" by reason of insanity.
The ONLY time that is allowed is when the person is not at all a danger, in any way.
Like if they killed their wife's rapist.

Typical democrat party solution, pump more money into federal agencies that have failed us in the past. Biden's solution to inner city violence is to fund the agency that is in charge of hunting down illegal alcohol stills in the woods, collecting confiscatory tax on tobacco sales and oh yeah, firearms. The same agency that set the scenario that caused Randy Weaver's teenage son to be shot in the back and killed and his wife to be shot in the face while she was holding an 18 month old child in her arms, the same agency that set the scenario for 80 men, women and children to be gassed and incinerated in Waco, Tx and oh yeah the same agency that came up with the brilliant idea to ship thousands of illegal weapons to Mexican drug cartels. Let's go Brandon.

I tend to agree, that the BATF is illegal and should not exist.

um...the man that shot and Reagan was found NGRI....he was clearly a danger.

It happens

I don't disagree that school shooters are crazy, but they aren't always criminally insane.

There is no such bill by Jimmy Carter, and presidents can't ever pass bills.
Those mental health institutions were not empty when Reagan pushed them all out into the street.
Public Policy and Mental Illnesses: Jimmy Carter's Presidential Commission on Mental Health
On February 17, 1977, Carter issued an executive order creating the President's Commission on Mental Health (PCMH). The very title suggested a fundamental shift in emphasis. Nearly two decades earlier, the Joint Commission on Mental Illness and Health (1955–1961) focused largely on the problems faced by individuals with serious and persistent mental disorders, many of whom were institutionalized (Grob 1991). The decision in 1977 to use “mental health” rather than “mental illness” in the commission's title indicated a policy shift, even though there was virtually no recognition of its implications. Rather, the change of terms was based on the application of a public health model that emphasized the role of the environment, social services, and prevention rather than the traditional psychiatric focus on the diagnosis and treatment of severe and persistent mental disorders.

The real reason that Joey is pushing money into the ATF is to digitize the info on all legal gun purchases since the year 2000 so they can pull up an individual's legal purchases in an Acme second by running your name, etc..
That way, when the regime decides that guns are no longer legal, they know what you gotz!!

Very rare.
And it should not be rare.
My point is that anyone who did not have a deliberate motive of greed, like rape or theft, should not be imprisoned, but instead hospitalized.

Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity on charges of attempting to assassinate the president. He remained confined to St. Elizabeth's Hospital, a DC psychiatric facility. In January 2015, federal prosecutors announced that they would not charge Hinckley with Brady's death, despite the medical examiner's classification of his death as a homicide.[6] Hinckley was released from institutional psychiatric care on September 10, 2016.[7]

If Hinckley had killed Reagan, do you think they would have just hospitalized him?

if he was found NGRI like he was…yes

we don’t put people in hospitals for committing crimes. It’s not safe to put people that are there for treatment with people that commit crimes.

Every time Democrats do something concerning law enforce, border enforcement or national defense, they generally take some made up position to try and convince the people that they know the difference between shit and shinola. They don't.

Why do some Democrats want to pass new laws against violent crime, intead of enforcing the laws that are already on the books?

Because they want to give the appearance of doing somthing about crime to people who dont pay attention anyway. To continue to get elected so they can finish destroying the Country.
