If they have lived their lives without a car and driver's licence, and without a government issued, Photo ID, why are you forcing them, citizens, to get one now in order to vote?
How does voter ID solve voter fraud that allegedly takes place at the polling place, (which it doesn't)? What is the purpose? If you've registered to vote, you will be on the voter roll to check in, if you haven't registered or had not been approved, then your name would not be on the voter roll at check in.
Why can't any ID showing your name and address work to prove you are who you say you are, like an electric bill with your name and address prove you are the person registered?
It does prove you are the voter registered. As a citizen, guaranteed the right to vote in the constitution, you shouldn't have to get a govt issued photo id... There is no purpose for it, other than to exclude those citizens living their lives without ID or making life much harder for them....and there is no other purpose for voter ID at the polling booth than that...keep citizens who have been voting their whole life without this government issued photo id.
There is no voter fraud at the polls that a govt issue photo id would stop.
BEFORE any person is approved to vote, the state should vet the application within their systems, to their age, whether a felon, whether not a citizen, whether they live in the district....that burden and vetting is the govt's responsibility.... It should not be up to us....we are citizens, we are constitutionally exercising our right to vote and are not illegals.
Your gop wants fewer CITIZENS from voting....mostly the poor, disabled and older seniors who live without a car and govt id, (and students going to school in other states), most all of who the gop believe are voters from their opposing political party....giving them hurdles is their goal....
And that, is simply cheating, and wrong.
and how many people do you think are out there who have lived their life without an ID?
No one is so poor that they cant afford to get an ID within the next 4 years.... its just not having the will to go out and do it.
