It may also be that they never had any intention to replace Obamacare but had to put on an elaborate show to fool their constituents who like the healthcare Obamacare provided that they were working on it. Perhaps their entire intention was to simply repeal it and kill healthcare for 25 million people. That certainly is their first wet dream.

It won't work, they're attempts and Drumpf's weak attempt to now cry 'we can't be held responsible' won't fly. When you have control of Congress and the White House and you claim there's nothing you can do then even the dumber voters see that there is no reason to vote for you because you can't do anything. Even with all the control.

Cons, 2018 will be a watershed loss for the GOP and it's last real gasp of being relevant nationally will come to a shart of an end. Trump's agenda will be haulted entirely and when he is replaced in 2020 with a Democrat all of his destruction between 2017 and 2019 will be erased. Enjoy the moment cons, it's going to be the briefest last bit of fresh air for the party of David Duke ever. Then it will be over for good.

This is breathtakingly cynical, and reveals the Republican Party’s priorities. Getting rid of the dreaded Obamacare at any cost is more important to Trump and his party than acting to improve the health care system for the people they represent.

Barack Obama is no longer president, but thumbing him in the eye and destroying his biggest accomplishment still outweighs taking even the most basic steps to provide relief to health insurance consumers whose plight Republicans have so often and so vividly bemoaned.

Tuesday morning, the Senate is scheduled to begin floor debate on whatever that something is. McConnell is asking GOP senators to approve a procedural motion on a House-passed health care bill, which will then allow him to bring up something else, after which senators will debate and vote on amendments to the something.

No one knows what they’ll be voting to debate. Seriously.

The measure passed 51 to 50, with every Republican senator except Susan Collins (Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) voting in favor. All 46 Democrats and both independents in the Senate opposed it. Vice President Mike Pence cast a tie-breaking vote in his constitutional capacity as president of the Senate.
