Why do Democrats vote for these dumbasses?

DoorDash isn't a small business

If you can't pay your employees a living wage, maybe you shouldn't be in business.
Define: Living Wage. I already said they mostly work on tips. More you work, more you earn. So you’re OK with small businesses dying and conglomerates remaining. That’s fine: just say so. Why do you always dance?

Ok but why do people care whether teens are in the workforce or not?
Because it creates a work ethic, keeps them out of trouble, teaches them fiscal responsibility early, allows them to invest in a vehicle, phone, etc. so that they can further their life as they mature. Do you not have children? You libs have zero common sense. None.

I had 3 kids of my own. They worked during summers only on jobs I approved of. They never worked for the same place more than 1 year even when the awful boss tried to bring them back. It was great having the boss practically beg them to come back because they were trained. I would always ensure the hard no on that.

Yep. But how does no teens affect anything?
/-----/ Just when I thought you couldn't get more clueless, you shout HOLD MY BEER.

Regardless of a worker's age, small businesses can't afford the high minimum wages.

I'm getting the feeling you're being disingenuous just to argue a point.
I'm done.

They clearly don’t understand basic finance and Econ. They also don’t elect themselves. Clearly the voters in Seattle are stupid. What am I missing?

I don't know about the mayor of Seattle, but you clearly don't understand basic finance or economics.

There are more factors at play here than minimum wages. Major increases in utility costs, increased food costs, soaring rents as leases expire, and reduced foot traffic are all factors in the closings.

Seattle saw a surge in restaurant openings post pandemic. But foot traffic hasn't returned to pre-pandemic numbers because of the changing nature of work from home. Now those 5 year leases are expiring, and higher rents and pass through municipal taxes are also an issue.

"The widespread shift to remote and hybrid work has decimated the downtown and central business corridors. Local restaurateurs, such as Brendan McGill of Eater Seattle, note that the loss of traditional cubicle workers and power-lunch crowds has made it too expensive to even open doors on slower days."

This is the shake out.

Businesses should not depend on teens anymore agreed. But then again those are jobs that can go unfilled. The owner can do the baking themselves.
Businesses have never depended on teens. You are obviously unaware of the meaning of 'entry level'. Businesses have entry level jobs that require little more than showing up for work. Those jobs can easily go unfilled of the tasks performed by current employees in addition to other more skilled tasks. The business is owner is giving an inexperienced teen an opportunity to learn work ethic and gain experience. You know, the things colleges charge people for. In addition, it keeps young people occupied instead of leaving them no alternative but crime. SMFH, this isn't rocket science.

People are over occupied. We live in a time where we need our most productive workers leaving the workforce much earlier than they are now.

Why would that be a bad thing? People retiring younger would be bad? How?
People can retire whenever they want. They have always had and continue to have that option. Successful people do retire early as a result of their intelligent choices. The government or employers have nothing to do with it. What you are advocating is the general public paying increased amounts in taxes and costs in general to subsidize those who make poor choices in their careers.
