Why did the courts rule against Brooke Shields?

I read this article abiut how Brooke Shields mom worked for playboy and let a grown man take nude photos of her ten yr old daughter Brooke Shields for a sugar an spice playboy publication. Years later in 1984 Brooke Shields sued the photographer Gary Gross because she didn't want those pictures of herself sold off and printed and displayed. The court said it wasn't porn and ruled against her but I can't even fathom how they came to that conclusion and how she is not allowed to have a voice or say about photos taken of her why was her mother allowed o do this?

I think in the year 2016 if Brooke Shields took him to court again she would win.
