Zone1 Why did Jesus come to earth?

Its Rome. Split hairs all you want. Its something you have to do to keep your dogma alive.
Thank you. I was wondering if you were ignorant, had a poor public school education, or just trolling. It appears it might be all of the above. Have a good day.

Have a good day.

you too ...

and try to remember jesus taught liberation theology, self determination and the repudiation of false commandments claimed from the heavens included in all three desert bibles. madeup by the liar moses.

Lol you are just dishonest. I mean, I understand. You have to be.

Actually you don't understand--not even enough to present your own perspective when asked.
I was pretty clear. There is no church jesus started. It was Rome. And you have repeatedly helped me on that. Surprisingly, not even realizing it. Kinda funny.

Then what I've written has gone right over your clueless head. Go ahead and have the last cackle. ;)

It didnt go over my head. Your ENTIRE religion is centered around what Rome wanted you to worship and believe.
Its facts, kid. You even helped me pointing that out.
Everything is going over YOUR head.

jesus their objective as the 1st century events is the reiteration of the heavenly goal to live without sin necessary for admission to the everlasting through self determination accomplished and maintained by the individual for their judgement as reliable free spirits ...

including the repudiation of judaism false commandments et al as the opposite used in creating the roman church that has the same preamble as judaism and is a religion of servitude and denial which does not allow for a free independent spirit of its own accord. precisely the opposite of what jesus died for.

Just goes to show that the Law of God remains in effect and in full force.

Eat the vile and loathsome "flesh" (teaching) of unclean creatures that do not RUMINATE (just believe) and your mind will be defiled and contaminated and you will devolve into an unclean creature that cannot RUMINATE.

It's a matter that I dug deeper. Teaching ancient history didn't hurt, either. Anthropology into various cultures that made up the Roman Empire adds additional insights. I suspect you may be looking at the influences various cultures (including the Roman Empire) had on the Early Church and which may have come from some of the Early Church fathers. Some of these early Church leaders lived in the Western part of the Roman empire; some in the east. Others lived outside the Roman empire.

Influences? Thats an understatement! The Roman Empire assimilated and perverted Christianity in 325CE with Mithraism, the existing secret Babylonian MYSTERY RELIGION of the Roman government and military.

* Mithra was born on December 25th. Called "Birthday of the Unconquered Sun", it was incorporated into the church in the 4th century AD as the birthday of Christ. Although Jesus was born in October, christians today celebrate Mithra' birthday, believing it was Jesus' birthday.

* Mithra' birth was witnessed by shepherds and by Magi (wise men) who brought gifts to his sacred birth-cave of the Rock

* He was considered a great travelling teacher and master.

* He had 12 companions or disciples, which in Mithraism were represented by the 12 astrological signs.

* He performed miracles.

* He was buried in a tomb.

* After three days he rose again, but with no witnesses to the event

* His triumph over death and ascension to heaven were celebrated at the Mithran's most important festival, Easter, held at the spring equinox when the sun rises toward its apogee

* Mithra was called "the Good Shepherd."

* He was considered "the Way, the Truth and the Light, the Redeemer, the Savior, the Messiah."

* In the cult's rituals, Mithra was identified with both the Lion and the Lamb.

* His sacred day was Sunday, and was called "the Lord's Day" hundreds of years before the appearance of Christ.

* Mithraism had a Eucharist or "Lord's Supper" in which bread was eaten as a symbol of Mithra' body, and wine was drunk as a symbol of the blood shed when Mithra overpowered and killed the bull

* Mithra performed many miracles, including raising the dead, healing the sick, making the blind see and the lame walk, casting out devils.

* Mithra was said to carry keys to the kingdom of heaven.

* Mithra was called the god of light and truth, the god of mediation between god and man. He was to his worshippers The creator of life; The Mediator between man and the higher gods; The God of light; The All-seeing one; The Guardian of oaths (covenants); The Protector of the righteous in this world and also in the next.

* A trinity godhead comprised of Mithra (divine god of truth), Rashnu (divine god of justice, judgement and righteousness), Vohu Manah (divine spirit of enlightenment). These three persons were separate yet they were one.

Before returning to heaven, Mithra was said to have celebrated a Last Supper with followers, who represented the twelve signs of the zodiac. In memory of this, his worshippers partook of a sacramental meal of bread marked with the Mithran cross of light. This was one of the seven Mithraic sacraments, believed to be the models for the Christians' seven sacraments, which follow them identically. It was called mizd, latin missa, in other words, English mass. Mithra' image was buried in a rock tomb, the same sacred cave that represented his mother's womb. He was withdrawn from it and said to live again.

Mithraism was an ascetic, anti-female religion. Its priesthood consisted of celibate men only.

Ah, so that's what TNHarley meant. Both of you should dig into Mithraism more deeply, along with several other religions practiced during Biblical/Roman times. Ever dig up information on Presidents who are said to be similar to Abraham Lincoln? Similarities in Presidents, religions, and even regions are not nearly as interesting as the differences. If ever you two get tired of similarities, try studying the differences. They, too, are quite interesting.

What makes you think that I haven't? That being said it is clear that your church follows exactly the seven sacraments of Mithraism which have nothing whatever to do with anything that Jesus taught or practiced.

It blows my mind how people can just shrug off things like that, like you just did, and have throughout this thread. Its freaking mind boggling!

You forget that I spent most of my childhood reading mythology. For example, Mithras? Or do you prefer the Persian Mitra? No one and no culture and no history lives in a vacuum. If you think they do, study art in each period. Anthropology can also give you some insight. For example, which social groups gathered mainly around Mithras while others were centered around Christ, while still others around Hercules or the various sun gods. Did you ever look into what followers of Mithras borrowed from the followers of Christ?

If you want to talk about mind boggling, apparently what I learned and accepted in childhood you think is some new discovery you came up with as an adult.

So much of christianity is ripped from other religions. Fact.
The romans shaped christianity and they decided what you would believe and worship. Not Jesus. Fact.
You not accepting that isnt my fault. Sorry.

All religions have been influenced by other beliefs, just as you have been influenced by those around you. I'm puzzled as to why you think no one but you is aware of this. Instead, think about the possibility of the rest of us being aware of it since time in memorial and you just catching on. Actually, it was Christianity that began shaping the Roman Empire just as much as Roman culture influencing Christianity. We are--and have been--on a two-way street throughout all of history, my friend.
