"Peyton Ham was killed in Leonardtown, MD.; on April 13, 2021, when a police officer fired lots of bullets at and into him. He was 16 years old. It’s a story so sad that you can understand why some folks would want it to just go away. Especially police and public officials in and around the rural Southern Maryland town. It took almost two weeks, and pressure from Ham’s family and others, before the state police released the name of the officer, Joseph Azzari. Family and friends of Ham held multiple rallies, hoping to drum up attention to the case. The rallies were attended by NAACP and BLM-affiliated groups -- but those efforts have had little success spurring the legal authorities to do anything.

However, local newspapers in Southern Maryland have kept on the story. And in August, they had received an audio recording of Ham’s shooting. The newspaper did not say who it got the recording from -- But the account written by County Times reporter Guy Leonard makes Ham’s final moments seem as horrendous as his loved ones’ worst nightmares."

And basically the account goes like this.....

At 1:35 p.m. A cop fires 10 shots at a 16 y.o......
At 1:42 p.m....Walks 12 feet closer to the teenager, fires another shot..
At 1:27:39 p.m., the officer opens fire again, firing four additional shots at close range...

That’s 15 bullets in three volleys in over one minute and seven seconds...police themselves have still not admitted how many times Peyton was shot..To make matters even worse, the state attorney said they can't complete an investigation because the autopsy wasn't finished....reminder, Peyton was killed in April...How is it outside of the local residents, organizations like BLM and the NAACP and a few media outlets -- nobody else is demanding accountability?? Where are the folks who go to every school board meeting to do performance art about how mask mandates and vaccines are all government tyranny but are silent as crickets when it comes to real government oppression?? Are you really saying BLM has a more consistent position regarding police and judicial accountability than the so-called gun-toting, freedom loving right-wing defenders of liberty??

Sounds like a local matter....I don't live in MD, let a lone Southern MD.

Not surprised to see BLM there since a police officer was involved....I wonder why they don't see mto concerned about the black lives lost, just a few minutes away in Baltimore....you know how many murders have been in Baltimore this year alone? over 250.

Why is the time frame out of order?

Shouldn't it go 1:27....four shots were fired
1:35...a volley of 10 shots were fired
1:42...one more shot

Yep Bill's story is shit....The cop had a glock which has 15 bullet magazine...

Here’s the timeline of the shooting based on information from the audio recording, exactly as published in the County Times:

  • At 1:26:35 p.m. on April 13 the trooper begins firing his service weapon, a Glock 22 .40 caliber pistol, which has a magazine capacity of 15 rounds.
  • At 1:26:39 p.m., the firing has stopped briefly after 10 shots; those shots were fired in five seconds.
  • At 1:26:42 p.m., the recording shows the trooper fired shot number 11 three seconds after the initial salvo. Evidence markers from the scene indicated the officer moved about nine to 12 feet closer to Ham before firing shot number 11.
  • At 1:27:30 p.m., emergency sirens can be heard, 48 seconds after the 11th shot was fired.
  • At 1:27:39 p.m., the officer opens fire again, firing four additional shots at close range, 57 seconds after shot number 11. The gunfire ended at 1:27:42 p.m.
That’s 15 bullets in three volleys over one minute and seven seconds. Again, neither the police nor prosecutors have yet said how many shots hit Ham. In August, Richard Fritz, state’s attorney for St. Mary’s County, told the County Times that his office couldn’t complete its investigation because the state had yet to finish an autopsy on Ham. The teen was killed in April.

The family is reporting the boy was an honor student..........in 8th grade. The boy was 16.

The reports of not having the autopsy completed were from August not currently---sounds like they were waiting on a tox report not sure though.

WTF is wrong with you BILL and you're lying ass articles. Here is the story from when it happened...the boy was a known druggy, depressed, and trying to commit suicide by cop. Notice that the article clearly states what happened and how many times the 16 year old was shot despite the family and their attorney's claims.

Why shoot someone 4 more times after they were already on the ground from being shot the previous times??

Wonder if you would have kept that same energy if someone shot her 4 more times after she was on the ground
