Trump toadies like to evoke antifa as one of their favorite scapegoats, and one of their Whataboutism evocation when Trump's neo-nazi, proud boys, boogaloo, q-anon, oath keepers, three percenters and other rightist goons are mentioned.

Van der Veen was most likely referring to John E. Sullivan, a Utah man who was charged on Jan. 14 with violent entry and disorderly conduct. Sullivan, an activist, said he was there to film the siege. He had previously referred to antifaa loosely affiliated group of antifascist activists that has no leader — on social media, but he has repeatedly denied being a member of the movement.
The F.B.I. has said there is no evidence that supporters of the antifa movement had participated in the Capitol siege.
Antifa is not affiliated with President Biden, the Democratic Party or its leaders.

Biden has unequivocally condemned antifa and called violence "unacceptable."

... More broadly, Biden has also repeatedly condemned acts of violence and property destruction in the context of the wave of protests and unrest in 2020. For example, he did so twice in one particularly violent week during August 2020.
On Aug. 26, 2020, after police in Kenosha, Wisconsin shot a Black man named Jacob Blake, Biden recorded a brief video message in which he said:
“…Protesting brutality is a right, and absolutely necessary. But burning down communities is not protest, it’s needless violence — violence that endangers lives, violence that guts businesses and shutters businesses that serve the community. That’s wrong.”
If Trumpers are desperate for a Whataboutism scapegoat to evoke when Trump's neo-nazi, proud boys, boogaloo, q-anon, oath keepers, three percenters and other rightist goons are cited, they might wish to consider the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, thoroughly disgusted with Trumpery.

Actually, Antifa definitely is a Democrat Party group. They used to be called "Occupy Wall Street", "Coffee Party" "SEIU" and "Weather Underground". Antifa is just their current moniker. Mayor Wheeler in Portland marched with them, and he is a devout Democrat.

The DNC owns both Klantifa and BLM. You made them, and they wouldn't exist, culturally or financially, without the DNC.

Your lie is unsubstantiated by any evidence.

AntiFa is a political movement that opposes fascism. There is no evidence that AntiFa is connected to the Democratic Party.
AntiFa is an anti-fascist and anti-racist political movement in the United States... According to an AntiFa website, its main focus is to prevent fascist organizations.
The vast majority of AntiFa militants are radical anti-capitalists who oppose the Democratic Party.
You may want to substitute the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in all your future Whataboutisms.

There is no credible Whataboutism diversion from proud boys, neo-nazis, q-anon, boogaloo, oath keepers, three percenters, and other white-supremacist Trump followers.

Fact check: Democrats have condemned violence linked to BLM, anti-fascist protests

Actually, Antifa definitely is a Democrat Party group.
Actually, it is an anarchistic movement that opposes both political parties, and has been condemned by politicians of both parties, not just President Biden.

"Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public... The violent actions of people calling themselves Antifa in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation."

Speaker Pelosi
is that why dem leaders supported posting bail for them .

Antifa

Proud boys

What does affiliation matter we're beyond that now

Just a smear

It's pretty simple. Beijing Biden and the DNC wrapped their arms around Antifa whenever they were politically useful to them. China Joe and Willie Brown's Ho may have made lip service against them occasionally but overall, they welcomed their support in destabilizing the nation. Willie's Ho even fundraised for them. They danced with the devil so now they get to take him home.

They are not the same. Proud Boys developed as a response to the Democrat ANTIFA crimes.

Kinda like the Guardian Angel's developed because of New York crime

the proud boys for years were jsut a bunch of mostly white memers who didn't like hippies and a bunch of other shit

that's not what the left is referring to when they talk about the proud boys, reality

Just like when some one mentions antifa on teh right it's totally disconnected from reality

just a smear

The Sun says the left is lying about ANTIFA

The Antifa members, some of them wielding clubs and shields, were seen marching through the streets of California's state capital on Wednesday, according to reports.

Many of them chanted slogans denouncing Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A few carried a large banner that read 'Abolish ICE.'

'No prisons, no walls - no USA at all,' they chanted.

Antifa demonstrators also marched and set fire to American flags in Seattle following Biden's inauguration.

Several people were arrested for property damage and assault, according to KIRO-TV, as the city's William Kenzo Nakamura Courthouse was vandalized and its windows smashed.

Antifa, which is short for "anti-fascist", is an anarchist group that has been unabashed by physical violence.

In November, Donald Trump slammed Antifa protesters as "criminal anarchists" after they were filmed burning an American flag and shouting "Death to your f***ing empire!" during an anti-capitalism protest.

simple?

simply wrong

A fact-check from The Washington Post in June found that there was no link between violent protests and antifa. That's in part because "antifa is a moniker, not a single group," so it's difficult to attribute any violence directly to that movement, which is focused on opposition to fascism and racism.

After recent protests in Portland, Oregon, for example, federal prosecutors produced no evidence to link the people arrested to the antifa or anarchist movements, according to Reuters.

Regardless of whether that violence is attributable to anti-fascist activists, the city's Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler recently condemned the actions of some protesters, including attempts to set fire to police union headquarters.

"When you commit arson with an accelerant in an attempt to burn down a building that is occupied by people who you have intentionally trapped inside, you are not demonstrating, you are attempting to commit murder," he said, according to The Washington Post.

In addition, when there have been clear instances of violence attributed to anti-fascist activists, some Democrats have spoken out against it.

In 2017, Pelosi condemned “the violent actions of people calling themselves antifa" after a protest in Berkley, California, according to The Washington Post.

“Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts,” Pelosi said at the time.
