They were on the payroll, so, yes, they were taxed.

You want to pay higher prices for food etc. Fine.

But we will not get the number of workers needed. Prices will go up. Supply will not meet demand, because chicken plants and row crop farmers don'g want to pay the increase in wages.

Also, the U.S. workers that farmers hire won’t be getting tax-payer welfare. That saves us money right there.
