Okay. So who will you vote for among the three? I was going to vote for McCain because I considered myself to be a moderate republican. Yet, as I research each candidate, carefully listen to the debates and review their history, I find myself leaning toward Obama. No. I’m not in love with Obama. I don’t believe every sentence that he utters. I’m not hypnotized. I know that he has exaggerated at least once or twice. I’m confident that McCain has also used some spin to try to convince people that he would be the best choice for president. Still, all things considered, I think that Obama will beat Hillary and that I’ll vote for Obama unless some “earth-shattering” event happens before Election Day.

Whichever Dem wins the nomination.

Major events;
Say maybe him receiving favors from Rezco, or finding out that Obama was unsure how he would have voted on the war in Iraq, find out that he would go back to Iraq if AQ emerged, find out that he belongs to a church that bestowed it's highest social award on a racist, find out that he would propose 800 billion dollars in new governmental spending.....If you need more I can supply more information?

It's pretty amazing that the LP is really the only party left with sanity and at least SOME kind of political clout. They have almost automatic access to something like 42 state ballots.

The LP is what the RP used to be.

But, of course, Americans have been programmed to believe that Libertarians are "anarchist kooks", or the term made quite popular this year: "isolationist".

So what's up all you so-called TRUE conservative republicans? Would you rather vote for McCain (D-AZ), just to keep another Dem out, or vote for someone you can feel good about because they represent you?

I was leaning towards McCain, mostly based on his stance on torture. But after listening to him stammer and flip-flop while talking with Mitt Romney, I gave up on him.

I am not big on Hillary and she is showing a very ugly side recently. No I will not vote for Hillary.

I may not vote, but if I do...it will be for Obama, which is the only chance we may have to salvage our fledgling freedoms and our stature in the world.

The absolute ONLY thing I like about Obama is his willingness to talk to enemies.

How can you negotiate with governments that think you are the "big infidel"?

There has to be a true willingness to negotiate on both sides, not just world political posturing.

Iran, for instance, has exhibited a desire to talk with us. It's the Bush administration that refuses.

I'm of the belief that Iran would not ALWAYS look at us that way. Their hardline rhetoric towards countries has always contained a specificity about the governments of the countries they are referring to. Even with Israel, they specify the "regime" which angers them.

Yeah yeah yeah. I've probably read more about him and others that you have. One can also find corruption and scandal on other contenders.

Look. I have my values and the different weights that I apply to different values. I’ve read about the good and the bad of the candidates. Your hype and hyperbole and satire really turn me off. I’ve read their records. I’ve already read the comments that opponents have said about them. All things considered, I still prefer Obama.

I think republicans should be wary of voting for Obama. First of all Obama is being supported by the same people who pass out Marxist literature on college campuses, the same people who are so far to the left they dispise the Clintons. Once socialist health care is enacted we will be taxed not 1/3 but more like 2/3's. We will go from being mostly free(currently we are 2/3's free), to being mostly slaves. Once the American people are mostly slaves to the government it is not hard to make us full slaves. Obama has already agreed to sell America out. The Canadian leader was caught saying Hillary and Obama were only claiming to overturn NAFTA for public consumption. They have already pledged in backroom deals to support it and the North American Union. Why would anyone vote for a politican who says one thing for public consumption but in practice they do another? The reason politicans do this is because they are not held accountable by the people. The only way to hold them accountable is to not vote for them. Why vote for someone who lies or like Obama only will discuss 'hope and change', and not tell you the agenda that he has promised in back room deals to pass through? Socialism is not the answer. The worst thing about Obama becoming president is it would be hate speech to criticize him. I am already seeing mild criticism labeled as hate speech. Once Obama gets power over our lives and starts using the government against us, any emotional reaction by the people will be labeled as hate, allowing him to go further in letting the government run us over.

Hmm...when did John Mcains "organized donors" blow up as the article suggest.....That article was written 2002?
It's not hype, or hyerbole Obama has consistently misrepresented his own positions. I believe by your posts your the fartherest thing from a moderate republican. I am a registered independent, although I will admit I am definetly right leaning.

You have supposedly drawn your conclusions about whom to vote for based on what you have learned. You have supposedly compared the positions that candidates have with your values and weights. I have done the same. Based on what I value and the values on the candidates, I will probably vote for Obama. If you want to know what Obama’s positions are see below:

That's fair enough, I thought this thread was about why you support a certain candidate. I guess I was wrong to debate why I believed that MCcain was the best choice.
