The question has been on my mind all day. Who benefited from the port destruction in Beirut? Who benefits when ports around the globe are privatized?
Has anyone else here looked at the people who've been involved in the Beirut explosion? The cargo ship the Rhosus flew the flag of Moldova. It was leased by Igor Grechushkin, a Russian businessman living in Cyprus. The ship arrived in Beirut in November 2013 after it left the Black Sea port of Batumi, in Russia controlled Georgia. The ship’s captain at the time, Borys Prokoshew, who is also Russian. Portuguese national Jorge Moreira (possibly this dude? https://www.linkedin.com/in/jorge-moreira-67aba027), who allegedly bought the explosive material from Georgian factory Rustavi Azot.
The Port of Batumi is the capital of Georgia, just 15 kilometers north of the border with Turkey on the southeast coast of the Black Sea. This port is also used as a major transit port for oil refining in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. In 2013 Batumi went into the China One Belt One Road initiative sights. Georgia: The Black Sea Hub for China’s ‘Belt and Road’
Depending on who controlled that Beirut port could that interfere with the criminals who run the rat line of stolen goods, humans and the illicit drugs that run through Syria to Lebanon and beyond to other locations around the globe? Perhaps.
Food for thought...
Fat boy on the left Erkan Yıldırım (small time operator compared to some but still big enough to do damage). Alleged serious drug dealer on the right Sedat Peker.
Comment translation per Google, "Sedat Peker: Who went to Venezuela to establish a new route after catching 4 tons of 900 kilos of cocaine? Erkan Yıldırım, son of our former president Binali Yıldırım"...
Takes one to know one I suppose; "Reis Sedat Peker is a Turkish mafia boss and whistle-blower who has made various allegations about Turkish politicians and numerous government engagements in illegal activities through his own YouTube channel. He has described himself as a Pan-Turkist and Turanist." Wikipedia
Who had the Beirut port contracts? "BCTC, a consortium comprised of a UK port operating company and Lebanese businessmen, was formed with the backing of Al-Mawarid Bank chairman Marwan Kheireddine. The consortium had defeated CMA CGM at the final hurdle of a heated bidding battle in July 2004 for the right to operate the container terminal..."
Who recently got the contract for the Beirut Port? Who is it that wants the control of our L.A. Port system too? CMA CGM
Who are some of the other owners besides the Yıldırım's with interest in that one might ask?
