According to what has been uncovered, he was a registered Republican in Pennsylvania. I looked it up on the state's public voter registration database, so it's true. However, he also donated to the Progressive Turnout Project, which is an organization that supports far left candidates.

Why does all of this matter? I don't know. You'll have to ask the partisan tribalists on each side since they are the ones making a big deal of these facts.

His classmates described him as a loner who was incessantly bullied and often wore hunting outfits to class. If anything, he sounds a lot like a school shooter. His politics seem very random and he might have been driven more by a suicidal urge to die infamously.

State voter records show that Crooks was a registered Republican. The upcoming Nov. 5 election in which Trump is challenging President Joe Biden would have been the first time Crooks had been old enough to vote in a presidential race.

When Crooks was 17, he made a $15 donation to ActBlue, a political action committee that raises money for left-leaning and Democratic politicians, according to a 2021 Federal Election Commission filing. The donation was earmarked for the Progressive Turnout Project, a national group that rallies Democrats to vote. The groups did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Those are my thoughts exactly. Crooks sounds more likely a school shooter than a would-be political assassin. I am not sure all these posts calling this a political crime are accurate. I think Crooks was a lonely, deranged sociopath no different than other school shooters.

The first reasonable analysis I've read on here. And it will probably be the only one.

Its WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too early to make any assumptions about this guy and his motivations. He obviously was convinced that Trump was a threat, and we know exactly where he got that idea, so.... :dunno:

How someone registers is not necessarily a marker of how they would vote. I registered as a Democrat but I wouldnt vote that way 95% of the time.

It's too early to be too confident. Perhaps if not for Trumps rally in his neck of the woods, he would have been the regular run-of-the-mill school shooter. Instead he had bigger dreams of being the next Lee Harvey Oswald.

However, I doubt he pursued this if not for a couple of key factors:

1) Without question, the vitriol and constant allegations of Trump being a Hitler, racist and mini-Mussolini. This would have convinced him that he was justified in committing this murder while also being infamous. Turn on The View or MSNBC on any given day, millions are watching these media drones telling their obedient zombies that Trump is the next Hitler.

2) Someone could have been aware of this guys intention and massaged it, even helped him. We will almost surely not learn of this if this is the case. Almost definitely not before the 2024 election.

3) Questions about the Secret Service need to be answered. No one is leading this brigade louder and harder than European media.

You just made an assumption in your post about not making assumptions. Are you really this stupid?
I assume that he was breathing yesterday too. Some things are obvious, arent they? He had to think Trump was a threat. How else do you explain the rifle and his murderous intent with it? :dunno:

Yes, you are that stupid. Thanks for answering that question.

I suspect politics had little if anything to do with his actions it’s more likely that he was a sad disturbed person who was suicidal and wanted to die and become famous at the same time.
Well he failed at that as well. At least partially.

Yeah. Mix increasing social isolation with the hate-filled madness of our current politics, and it's a freakin' miracle we haven't seen more of this.

Crook was a registered Republican, and apparently a well-organized militia.

Right, Republicans?
When the white kid with a rifle was in the insurrection of African Americans riots, did you notice that damn near all ran away? One went and helped to kick the rifle from him. No one pushes back on you. Of course he was Republican. He loved Trump.
