Strange Developments

In WA, the court system that handles background checks for firearm purchases has been down for two weeks with no timeline for repair. The powers that be claim, "Oh well. Too bad." The state demands a 10 day waiting period. However gun buyers will have to start the process over even if it came on line today (still appears the fix is at least two weeks out) because the federal firearms form times out after 30 days. I think every gun owners group in the state should file a class action suit for all gun owners asking BILLIONS of $$$ for the violations of the 2nd amendment and illegally restricting gun owners' constitutional rights. WA legislators are famous for thumbing their noses at their constituents with no penalty. SMFH

Yes. Your driver's license entitles you to drive in all 50 states and likewise it is BS that you pass a background test and get a carry permit, but that only applies to YOUR state.

I bought a .45 ACP from an old friend in CA a couple years ago. He took it to his local gun dealer in CA who shipped it to my local gun dealer in WA and I picked it up at the WA store after the required waiting period of ten days. No muss no fuss.
Oh sure, you can always transfer a handgun through a dealer.

You can't go to an out of State dealer and buy a handgun, and take it home yourself. It has to be transferred through an FFL same as if it was a private sale.

Long guns are not subject to that restriction. You can buy a long gun from an out of state dealer, and providing you are legal to own that gun in that state and your own state, you can do the NICS check and go. That is only for in-person transactions from a licensed FFL. Online transactions have to go through an FFL in your State.

Tip...of...the iceberg. Just as the Obama administration did the Biden administration has been doing end runs around congress and the law for years. A silent insurrection of corrupt government agencies doing the bidding of the puppet dictator.

What can you expect from a government which has worked with social media during Covid and the 2020 election to suppress news, questions and dialog which nixed the official stories, then did the same with news media on questions about Biden himself?

WA is much better than CA in issuing CCWs, but they aren't accepted in many states. OR is the same way. Its a hodge podge of laws across the nation. I think a CCW should be honored nationwide. IDK how to accomplish that--maybe issue them on a federal level but IDK which agency would most efficiently accomplish it. I think that could answer a lot of needs too. If you have a CCW, that should be all the background check you need. Show your CCW, hand over the cash and receive your weapon--anywhere in the nation.

Not on the west coast. ID won't sell to WA, OR and NV and AZ won't sell to CA long gun or hand gun, doesn't matter.

I used to have a friend who literally had six differed CCWs from various states he traveled through.

I believe you, I just can't find it anywhere in the laws.
LOL, no kidding. They change the laws at the drop of a hat and six months later they are tied up in court or reinstated during the trip to SCOTUS five or ten years later. IDK how gun shops keep up with it.

CA is a mixture with the issuing authorities. It is up the each county sheriff. Some counties are "may" issue and some are "must" issue. But the vast majority won't issue to most people. There are businesses that are authorized to issue CCWs that are accepted in all 50 states, but I'm unclear how they accomplish it. They held the classes in Coeur d'Alene, ID a few years ago, but I haven't seen the ads in some time.

All I know is that some states like Maryland, you can have a carry permit in an adjoining state right next door, but if you cut through their state just 25 miles and they catch you without a carry for THAT state, they will treat you like Al Capone.
