The pro tempore becomes president of the senate in the absence of a VP but nobody can break a tie until a new VP is confirmed. Nixon had no VP after Agnew resigned. It is the same basic situation.

She'd nominate a vice and the Senate would vote to approve - or not. If she died or was incapacitated before a vice was approved, the Speaker would become president.

Yep, and unless she picked a real radical like Bernie or AOC as VP, both chambers would confirm them. I hate to admit it, but if her legal problems disappear, they would probably even confirm Hillary as VP. This is exactly why those that want Biden impeached should be careful what they wish for.

Biden-Cameltoe=bad, but is Cameltoe-Hilly better? How about Cameltoe-Booty-Judge? Cameltoe-Lurch? How about Cameltoe-Spacy Stacy? What if they talk her into, Cameltoe-Newsome!
