I'm beginning to really respect Paul Ryan, in that he votes what he believes, and I think he's capable of compromise. So, while he'd be my first choice, he's not running.

I'm curious as to what Hill will campaign on. Clintoneconomics cannot win an election, and probably not a nomination. The dems have to pursue a more populist econ program, but just being populist is not enough. Personally, I think we should not approve anymore free trade agreements unless our partners allow the same freedom to unionize that we have. I don't like unions, but then I'm not making 10cents an hour in Indonesia.

I'd call myself a progressive conservative, but imagine the horror.

Definition is important; yet I do get your point and agree.

I'm a progressive pragmatist, meaning I believe in a fiscal policy framed by pragmatic decisions, not by a dogmatic ideology; I support a rational approach to policies which bridge the gap between freedom and security in terms of government spying, gun control and everything in between.
