I know ignorance isn’t the same thing as stupidity, but it’s truly frightening how many spectacularly ignorant people there are out there.

Especially where it comes to things like basic geography and history. So many Americans know nothing about the world around them, or even their own country.

I’m talking people who can’t even name the states that border the one they live in, or when the Vietnam War was mentioned they said “wasn’t that the one with Sadam Hussein?”

Public schools stopped teaching those things and started teaching BS.
Here in Chicago, kids graduate unable to read, write and do math.

But they know that white society owes them reparations.

Schools teach, but students refuse to learn. There is a difference. I can teach the quadratic formula until I am blue in the face, but if Little Johnny doesn't give a shit if he ever goes to college, he also will not give a shit about learning the quadratic formula, no matter how many times he is taught.

The fact that you and others do not realize this and contiguously attack educators is a major problem in this country. I thought conservatives believed in personal responsibility, or is all that just bullshit talking? Liberals make excuses, which is exactly what you are doing when you accuse educators of not teaching! If we don't teach, how does anyone ever get an education?

A nice guy but a stupid guy was in over his head at one of my recent workplaces.

He once asked me why the drill he was using was having such a hard time drilling holes into a brand new $1700 work bench. I asked why he was drilling holes, it should be pre-drilled. (he had the tabletop upside down, and the drill was in reverse.) So, he asked me which way the bit was "supposed to be going?" and I showed him.

I then warned him that he needed to look at the drill bits to make sure it's not a Left handed/ reverse bit.

He got mad and said, "**** you."

Of course, I said "what? why?"

He then said even he knows there's no such thing as Left Handed (reverse) drill bits.

Perhaps many of us still live with the illusion that one cannot proceed to the next grade in school without having at least some passing knowledge of what was taught in the grade just completed. Hence, cannot graduate from HS without some store of basic information.

Don't ask me anything about the quadratic equation.

My former business partner was the smartest idiot I've ever known. He was a brilliant programmer and had an amazing ability to inspire people. But he made the most destructive stupid decisions you can imagine, both on a business and personal level. He had a wonderful, beautiful wife and three great kids and threw it all away cheating with other women. He nearly bankrupted the company embezzling money and "taking care" of his buddies who were employees. If people are born with low intelligence that's one thing, but it's a special kind of stupid when the person is extremely smart and does colossally stupid things.

I made a perfectly legal and safe turn and somebody disagreed with me, turned into the lane beside me on a four-lane and laid on their horn. They dropped back behind me when when the road turned into a two lane and then they went screaming up the shoulder, through a puddle, spraying water all over my car, flipping me off and speeding away.

Stupid.

A lot of people out on the county two-lanes will use the oncoming lane as a left turn lane when someone is behind them, rather than make the person behind them slow down while they make their turn -- gives me the heebie-jeebies every time.

THE DMVs IN THIS COUNTRY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE PSYCHOLOGICALLY DERANGED LUNATICS THEY ARE PUTTING ON THE STREETS TO KILL, MAIM, AND DESTROY AT WILL!!!

The DMVs in this country DO NOT GIVE A SHIT about human life or peoples property. ALL they are worried about is that money in your hand!!!

I've personally SEEN two illegals taking a test together, which is supposed to be AGAINST DMV RULES, and they finished the test and got in line in front of me. When they got up to the clerk.......one couldn't speak English, and the other one was really bad at English. But the clerk looked at their tests and said ........and I will NEVER forget this..........."You both failed the test. You even got your names wrong from the application you gave me". Then she shuffled a few papers around and handed them both a piece of paper and said "He's your drivers permits". And they left.

The DMVs need to start having THEIR people pay for the lunatics THEY put out onto the streets!!!
And the DMV office AND the clerk that gave them their license should be investigated, audited, and the clerk lose their job......and if the lunatic they put on the street killed anyone, the clerk will have to spend some time in jail.

It's not a perfect plan, but it's a hell of a lot better than what in place now.

In terms of brain functions it all revolves about :-

Pattern Recognition , and ,
Space Perception /Awareness .

Put Academic Knowledge on one side and IQ questions simply measure these two variables with Verbal and Numerical abilities as means of communication .
